how many dead on rockets does it take to kill someone? I shot kev twice close range with a rocket and some nailgun shots and he still lived

hopefully the quality will be a tad better. as for the fov thats my fov. most tdm demos i have seen so far have fov 90-100 so it looks good

There's random damage with direct hit rockets and grenades... A rocket can take UP to 120, I believe(it could be 115, i forget), which is equivalent to the max dmg a weapon can cause in q2 aside from bfgk10k(a point blank ssg blast = 120 dmg).

yesterday i had quad with ssg i hit this guy 3 times dead on with the sg + quad and he still lived wtf. and then he fell from the armor on dm2 to the next level and still didn't crator and ran off into the sunset

you should try to kill a full loaded power shield with 200 or 300 cells!
its a pain!!
only quad or trap can kill those PS whores!

Well I don't think he asked what a quad can do or what a supershotgun can do... but... thanks for sharing, bro.

Anyway...

If I recall correctly, there's TWO versions of that map in rotation on the TS servers. One, which is a modified map and is played less frequently than the stock q2dm7 map, features 2 combat armors on opposite sides of the map. The main one, q2dm7, only has one red armor. Obviously he had 200 armor from collecting the red armor twice, and also walked around collecting armor shards and stimpacks before anyone else showed up to play. Or he was lucky enough to avoid other players long enough to collect 2 red armors and a few other shards/stimpacks.

I don't know of any maps that contain both a PS and quad damage, so it's a pretty implausible scenario. It was a most illuminating theoretical situation based on common arithmetic, though, and I think I speak for the entire community by saying thanks to MacGruber.

One of our admins has, on at least two occasions over the years, described encountering a bug while playing on vanilla where his health shot up to 999.

I've personally never encountered this bug, nor do I recall anyone else having posted about it.

But, if it exists on vanilla, then it would also exist on at least mutant, railz, and dm.
