Big Bear, California
USA
Ahh, one of the few places you can go skiing in the morning, cruise down to LA and.... umm.... well... from there you can go to San Diego and catch some surf and sun, and then hit up Tijuana, Mexico for some margaritas and clubbing all in the same day!
It's sort of a hi desert environment, very dry (cereal takes years to go stale), tourist community just on the edge of the Inland Empire - about 2.5 hours from both San Diego and LA.
Here's the link:

Don't be fooled by all the snow in the pictures - I think right now it's almost all man-made even this far into the season.... global warming...

Hey Kobra,
I've seen the shuttle take off from that area - very cool! I've also set off fireworks and run away from cops (well... headlights on the beach steadily getting closer to us as we debate who they are and whether or not we should escape). Yes... yes I know... I live a life full of excitement and danger. I guess that's just the kind of guy I am.

Here's the city in vermont that people MIGHT know. Burlington is the largest city in Vermont, by far, and it's more interesting than my town, so here are some pictures:
here's the main drag in burlington
This church is burlingtons main claim to fame. Taken just down the street from the first picture.

Mat, that looks uncannily like the view out my bedroom window when I lived in the Sultanate of Oman during the 90s! No kidding--VERY, very similar.
