JUMPS - Jumps collection - Q2DM1 - pov: daelmun

Made this jumpcollection 2.5 years ago (damn how fast the years pass!), and have not seen a more extensive collection of jumps on q2dm1 yet, so I might as well post it here. It's about all the jumps you need to know on q2dm1 and a handful more. Be warned, it lasts for a looong time, and it's not intended to be entertaining really. Besides the clips are so short it's hard to learn anything from it as well. So watching it part by part is recommended, else you'll end up falling asleep for sure. All jumps done with normal settings, and edited together by using keygrip2.

To watch the whole movie:
Put the demos in the baseq2/demos folder, and type in console: demomap dm1-intro.dm2, and the parts will run in order.


Only part I can watch without getting overly bored anymore is the weaponjump part

Yeah, made it while being offline. Else I wouldn't bother, that's for sure. Much more fun playing DM than spending hours upon hours wasting time with keygrip2 :\ Was so frustrated with keygrip2

Wow, that's an impressive display of skill.  I've been playing quake2 since it came out and I can't even come close to pulling off 90% of those jumps.  I've tried several of them and I can't even come close.  I don't know if it's my crappy key configuration or what but I can't get strafing down as well as you and some other players I run into.  I'm just blown away.  I can't even imagine where my skill level would be if I could master some of those.  Great demo, I'm totally blown away!

Seriously though...how much time you spent just to record all this?

recordings the easy part....   what do you do to get yer quake fix without any internet?

Recoring can be an easy part yeah...but some of those jumps don't seem easy at all. So I doubt he got everything he recorded in 1 shot. So with many takes, then the editing...must have been quite long.

BUMP.... thanks Daelmun for that fabulous and nostalgic jump video, that truly separates the quake series and the extreme skill necessary  in q2.  The jump server is awesome...Nookie tournament videos are awesome as well, or visit  the jumpserver and watch replay 1.
