I guess it was the over-all affect of seeing bad things about unc then good things about ncstate throughout the page, didn't mean to call you out in particular...lol

anyone have any thoughts on fedura?

False. UNC's defense hasn't been much all year.

North Carolina's rush defense was ranked 12th in the nation, giving up 106.2 yds/gm.
Mizz had the 11th best rushing offense in the nation, rushing for 236.3 yds/gm.

I don't know how many teams NC played that rushed the ball well (other than GT), but their stats looked good.
They got their asses handed to them by Mizz, they rushed for 337 yards against NC. (over triple what NC normally gives up).
Mainly though, NC just looked like they were not into the game. That is sad.

Yeah, unfortunately (in a way) these bowl games are right at xmas time. These are college kids here. You KNOW they're gonna party a little, especially when it's a holiday break, and extra-especially when they get a free vacation out of town for a week or so during bowl season. Some of them think they can drink themselves retarded the night before the game and be at 100% come kickoff.

I live in the state he comes from (as a coach...he ain't from around here). I'm a fan of all our state schools. Just my opinion; he is a very good offensive coach that recruits players to fit his offense...tall, fast receivers, scat backs, the usual spread flavor of the day. Based on his years at USM, the offense will score points. They play in the CUSA and defense was not a strong point for any of the teams. 37-34 type games. If NC has a good defense and good defensive coordinator, they could make some noise.

This thread has become multiple subjects. Could an admin break it up under a "Sports" heading, please? NFL, College FB, BB and even curling deserve their own section head.

By the way, I think the administrators of this site do a wonderful job. If there were a "serious" face, it would go here.....

Nah, no reason to break up football talk into two threads. NCAA and NFL are closely related enough that it would make more sense to keep it all in one thread.

Well... Idk where else I'd occasionally bring up college b-ball, but here. Last night's game(unc) was hardly worth watching... we broke 100 though, so free bo-berry biscuits at bojangles the next morning to all haha. The crowd was even chanting "We want biscuits" when we had 99 pts lol..(the student crowd).

and yeah our whole defense was probably drunk, lol.... in my experience. drop me a line in irc for some hilarious stuff about the team that I just typed out, but didn't feel comfortable putting on the internet.. I used to live in chapel hill and knew..... 30+ defense players(mostly 2nd/3rd string). It was a very odd arrangement, but anyway..

We have some very good tools to use offensively... our best WR and RB are top tier by anyone's standard, and we do have an alright passing QB... yet we still need some guidance, because our offense can get caught with our pants down on occasion... sounds like he may do that.

It's our defense, and our general tendency to rely on Jones/giovani making some awesome catch in the endzone(or run) JUST to keep us in the game that is the problem. Insanely enough, it works for us because they do make these awesome plays a lot, and it's cool when it does work lmao. but, it's just as equally NOT cool when it's exploited EASILY haha. I'm just speaking in general though, our defense has played better games than v. mizzou.

UGA loses to Michigan State in usual late-game lazy fashion. Georgia QB Aaron Murray has pipe-dreams about the Dawgs being National Champ contenders next year, but I don't see it happening. Pretty sure Brandon Boykin is leaving for the NFL draft. Drakari Rambo might duck out early too. UGA doesn't have the stamina to kick ass for 4 full quarters against top teams. The last 2 games of the post-season proves that. They hang tough as nails with LSU for maybe 2 and 1/2 quarters, they get winded and tired, and LSU keeps it running on all 8 cylinders and comes back to win it. UGA pretty much does the same thing to Michigan State. They make the Spartans their prison bitch in the first half, then don't have the stamina in the 2nd half to keep the ass-kicking going. If I'm the UGA coaches, I'm getting these returning players started on a nazi regiment of cardio and aerobic training starting RIGHT NOW and making them do it DAILY until next season.

I'm taking Cincinatti over Houston and Detroit over... nah, I ain't crazy, New Orleans over Detroit.

It's too bad Green Bay and New Orleans are both NFC. They'd probably make the best Superbowl matchup. Superbowl's probably gonna be kinda lame this year.
