Add ztn & trdm maps to DM

I have been on at times when DM has been full on a regular basis. I have never seen vanilla reach it's server limit. granted vanilla allows more players, but still it shows the classic DM maps are still as popular today as they were when they came out. And the ammount of players i see during the week and especially on the weekend, and on euro servers who are very passionate about their quake2   shows that this game has stood the test of time, so no you are wrong saying that the game has died off due to no change. I have seen people come back to this game after years of not playing, and they all say the same thing, they miss it and is the best damn mutliplayer shooter game of all time. I was so happy myself when after 10 years of not even owning a pc, installed q2, hoping to find people who still played, i didn't think i would until i came across TS servers.

Fact: In the 13 years I have been playing Q2, I have seen players come & go, servers come and go. You know why? BECAUSE SOCKS START TO STINK WHEN YOU DON'T CHANGE THEM.

Fact: In the 13 years I have been playing Q2, I have also seen the same players on Vanilla-type servers day in and day out. You know why? BECAUSE THOSE PLAYERS ARE BORED SHITLESS WITH Q2dm1-8.

Fact: In the 13 years I have been playing Q2, everyone has been trying to get a piece of me. You know why? BECAUSE THEY'RE JEALOUS OF MY AWESOME Q2 SKILLS, SUPERIOR INTELLIGENCE, AND STUNNING GOOD LOOKS.

 

How did you come up with these conclusions?
Did you conduct a study or a poll to arrive with those so called facts you claim?

If they are bored with DM maps then they can go to Mutant. Its not that they are in Vanilla coz they dont have any choice if they hate DM.

FACT: I kinda suspect that before that your real intention "as always" in starting a thread is to stir up an argument.
You would start with a sensible post-  as to go under the radar undetected to whats your real intention- then manipulate a legit discussion to and manipulate it to turn into into an argument.

well what i really don't understand is why come here, say that dm1 to dm8 is boring people shitless (probably just bores you) and suggest the map cycle to change or add maps people haven't even heard of, when you don't even play there? you play mainly at vanilla. If people were getting so tired  of the same DM map cycle over and over i am sure alot more players would sign up an account here and suggest it, but what most players realise (which you can't seem to sink into that head) is that they have a variety of servers to choose from. If someone is tired of DM they have vanilla, railz, fox, whale, mutant, numerous tdm servers where u can vote custom maps and play, you  ought to try NADL server, you can vote any map you like

BTW I don't play at Mutant because it's empty most of the time, and 'invites' rarely seem to attract people from other servers.

You've just summed up what I was trying to get across. You don't want to play mutant because you think it's empty all the time and the invites won't attract people. Doesn't that tell you something? Like maybe people like the way the servers they play on are set up.

Here, I'll put it this way to you. You want all this change, why don't you do it yourself. Gather your spare change, convert it to a paypal account, rent a server, get it authorized and added to the goto function and run it your way.

You somehow consider yourselves qualified to speak for every player in the Q2 community (arrogant), while deriding me for putting forward my own personal views (hypocrisy).

Yes, I do feel qualified to speak for every player in the Q2 community. It's not arrogance. I do it humbly and with a good grasp of the situation. I could get frustrated and start being belligerent here but I won't. It is unnecessary. You are presenting that others should bend to your will in a situation so trivial that it barely deserves the bandwidth it too to transmit it.

There are times when you don't get your way. There are times where I don't get mine. Arguing about it in a passive aggressive way just shows you can't handle the very basic acceptance of this situation. Take a deep breath and let go man.

People will play where they want. Stop trying to interfere with that.
