Welkin- I am referring to when DaHanG beat purri at quakecon 2005, the quad damage tournament. Dahang, generally being a better q4 player than purri, picked q4(then purri got the map pick). Purri, generally being the better player at quake 2, picked q2(dahang with the map pick, picking ztn2dm3). Ironically, purri won q4 and dahang won q2, opposite to their picks lol. Then I believe DaHanG won the q1 portion, on dm4. The ztn2dm3 lan match at qcon of dahang v. purri was definitely not a friendly, and available on youtube. Believe it or not, months before qcon even happened this year, I even called this very circumstance happening: (purri picking quake 2, then dahang picking rage and winning). It wasn't much of a surprise for a few of us in NA who knew how ridiculous he is on that map.

I was being very general with my statement, and I don't include you skill-wise with the likes of provi and syanid . Perhaps i'd categorize you with the likes of odium and optimizer in skill level in 01-02 during those oldie scandanavian tourneys. Completely agree about you ranking the eu players, although I didn't mention syanid who is obviously worth mentioning. Assassin as well.

ur right in everything hounted, but u forget to mention: on QuakeCon was played plain quake2. I could imagine purri playing game and don't recognize any skin or any sound. That 'nub q2' was clearly more familiar to DaHang then purri 

plain quake2 is one ugly skin/model/sound disturbing game and i wouldn't play it even if could get money in it   

Even if i admire DaHang on his ability to fast learn new maps (q4-torment or ql maps) i don't think he had chance in lan vs any of 4 top Finland duelers in bo5 (EDL rules)

Oh yeah, I agree muerte in regard to EDL rules. Goes right along with what I said concerning DaHanG lacking the experience that those guys have. Not saying anything about DaHanG past that win on that one map. However, I do think some have underestimated purri's abilities to cope with stock q2, although I know he complained about it. I just have too high expectations of purri as a player for it to have hindered his game THAT much, ya know? I know it was a little bothersome, though :>

By preference, I play with stock sounds.

In general, isbjorn gives me a harder time than zorre, always has in a duel. I've played zorre a lot in the past, and isbjorn more recently though... which is why I said I'd like a euro opinion. Plus, I'm only used to playing them on tourney4(or older east coast US servers).

IsBjorn since i 'know him' never hesitated to come and play on high ping that's why he is better on high ping then zorre
zorre also never refused to come to any servers and play but he always had great connection all over eu and for him 10-20ish ping is natural last several years on  euservers, and his style is fits to low ping

btw IsBjorn is currently out of shape (after long vacation on Thailand) i would dare to say he is about 40% his last year skill (NADL) and anyone who watched his games vs purri, zorre or syanid last year knows that
funny thing even out of shape IsBjorn won current PDL champion norman...

I believe it. Last time I played isbjorn it was a few months ago and even then he seemed a lil out of shape than from his performance in NADL. It was kind of late though(even later for swe obv.) so I figured he was probably as drunk if not more than as I was

zorre to me seemed like a better player between the two of em... both are quite beastly and fairly even, but zorre just seemed like a calmer more solid player

Their standard tourney ruleset was brought up because of the contrast to the normal tournament situation caused when Purri and Dahang played during the qcon tourney and they were stuck using fairly stock Q2 and no timers and such.

The EDL rules are actually pretty well written and they've worked fine many times now.
There is a negligible difference between their standard rules and ours.

Timer usage would be the only major difference and when it comes down to it, when you're all using them they aren't that big of a deal.

Next time you try to take a potshot at an entire contient of players all of whom are out of your league, think first, then turn off your computer and get a job.

players like damiah and purri and zorre and isb are good enough that they can time items to the T without any timers... everyone knows this, its common knowledge... what i said was nothing less than a light hearted crack at an issue that has been controversy in the past

I wouldn't say Dahang is better than purri since he only won one big tournament against him.  But you can't discount such a nice win like some players do.
