I think you're thinking of QuakeCon.  QExpo exists 125% on the 'net.  QCon lets you see what other people really look like.

But QCon has LAN, yes.    100% LAN, but anyone can run their own servers.

So, Quake Expo will running on the net then. oh had no idea. thanks for the heads up. never been to a gaming event of this magnitude in person. all the major events were always far away and too crowded,(in Texas). i thought most events were all Lan and some players ventured off to other servers ( if allowed or time allotted before the main event tournaments) by their own will. well that's even better for the community, so players can experiment with independent servers, different mods on a broad spectrum, and servers like yours.

Would the QEXPO be a good place to get old material out?

It's just my old Q1 map that never saw any play other than here at tastyspleen's server for a night.
But I think it's totally righteous and needs to get out there

Yes. You'll probably see many booths with people showcasing their old work.

The other big thing you get is a chance to get people to join in on games they don't normally play. So get it on a server and announce a night to join in on your booth. That's my favorite thing about qexpo. The increased interest in mods and maps.
