just joined so new guy here no idea for a first post so this is erm, it

been playing the ground zero expansion pack from the quake4 special edition and some baddies are really pissing me off!

my vote is for the ceiling spider (dunno name) shoots plasma

and those ceiling turrets

many times i died due to them.

and now something about me:

only been playing quake2 for a few months, sp only for now and any problems i have had (autoexec mainly) i have found help in the irc channel so thanks for that.

been playing too much DooM (Skulltag/ZDaemon/ZDooM) so thought i would move on up

those spiders really piss me off too.
I play q2 and all the expansion packs sp about once a year all the way through.
the ground zero turrets (blaster and rockets) are real pissers.
the way I take out the blaster turrets is this.
I creep up to the door way where I can almost or barely see one, but it cant see me or at least hit me.
Then I hit it with the blaster. 20 hits should do it. they give off blue sparks if you are hitting them.

ground zero isn't just a map expansion pack.
it was a single player Q2 game expansion pack.
there were two, The Reckoning and Ground Zero.
The Reckoning brought into multiplayer "THE TRAPS" what fun!
Ground Zero brought into multplayer "TESLA MINES" and "PROXIMITY GRENADES"
Proximity grenades were/are without a doubt, the greatest, most fullfilling weapon ever design for fps multiplayer.

I don't know if any servers are left runiing theses expansion packs.
I think there might still be one running The Reckoning (Xatrix)

If possible, can I say we replace the least used Spleen servers w/ the expansion pack games........I know....It's tough to find them but I have a copy of both packs.

SH!T that reminds me....I'm gonna go load up my "Scourge Of Armagon" and "Dissolution of Eternity" packs to Q1.

I used to have a few, but in the changeover to i-Quake and the mac thing, I lost them...
I bet if I searched on PQ I might be able to locate them, if the links aren't dead.

Amazingly fun and versatile server/client friendly mod

Traps and proxy grenades, they are c4 so you can plant and detonate...
still a rail gun in there and a great bfg. two fire modes for many of the weaps, including a flamethrower, nothing like running around screaming and on fire while fragging...

yeah i was going to ask about having a Ground Zero/Reckoning server up, some of the multi player weapons are pretty cool. i like the sticky grenades

Just gotta add 2 cents in here.. Also exists an other expansion Pak . The long forgotten Oblivion Mission Pak..Multi and Sp. Some of these maps made it into reg Q2 dm play..Project was pretty much abandoned and forgotten.. but is playable..
Author of this was John "Metalslime" Fitzgibbons.. A very different approach here, new monsters, weapons and helper grunts
Any interest?? File is approx 100 megs........
