quadz i think it has something to do with anti cheat. i was playing astral today on railz and his crashed first saying he lost connection to anticheat and connection reset by peer, then a few seconds after my r1q2 dropped out again too.

that just happens when your client crashes, your connection times out to both the server and the anticheat server... after a crash if you reconnect fast enough you can watch it happen to yourself

im sure youve seen people lag out of the server before where they freeze and a moment or two later their connection times out and they disconnect, same thing happens when your client crashes because you didnt actually disconnect

so far i have played all day without anticheat and r1q2 has not shut down once. so maybe thats worth investigating. if i haven't dropped out atleast once by not using anticheat by tonight when i finished playing i would say that is the culprit, next step would be is to find out why it is happening.

p.s i have also noticed i have not been getting this niggling little lag i have been lately since i have removed ac. every few shots it was like my mouse was laggin for a second, but i am not getting that now and also i was always on 0.01% or 0.02% PL but that is gone now too since i have not been using ac. could just be coincidence

u bet ya it has. i am amazed at the difference in using it and not using it. a while back i was having bad lag issues using ac but i fixed those by shutting down my security shit, and it seemed ok, but after i removed it, wow its so much smoother. so don't know whats going on

Well I have been playing with ac and without, and it crashes no matter what, plus I reinstalled video drivers and R1Q2 still it does it randomly.

It happens about 3-5 times a day now.

As for recent changes still nothing significant that I can think of of the top of my head.

I was just playing against Quick2Die on mutant as the game ended and it was to show the scores I got dropped to my desktop. I was using anticheat because even though it is on my exceptions list my anti-virus still pulls it.

I was experiencing missed mouse clicks as well. I'll monitor it later with netgraph turned on to see if there are any packets being lost.

It's annoying enough that I have to keep installing anticheat after every system scan, but to have it crash out on me could get frustrating.

ok i am really over this bullshit. FFS! i want to be able to use anticheat but it seems as though r1ch doesn't give a fuck that his anticheat is fucking crashing everyone. a quote from is forums "Mid-game crashes or crashes after anticheat has loaded should almost never happen." well all i have to say is FUCKEN BULLSHIT! it worked fine for ages, then all of a sudden about 3 weeks ago it starts crashing mid game, happening every 20 mins or so, really fucken annoying, i tried everything, i tried reinstalling everything, updates for drivers ect, i tried different clients and it still kep fucking crashing. so i delete ac out of my folder and i have not crashed once. I decided to reload it today and guess what ANOTHER FUCKING CRASH WITHING 20 MINUTES! u need to sort this bullshit out, i want to use ac to atleast show my legetimacy. i used ac for a long time with no problem, now all of a sudden its a major fucking pain in the ass, not just for me but others aswell. If you want people to use it fix the damn problem that is causing these crashes mid game, once again NO ERROR MESSAGES!.

So far, apparently "everyone" means you, and sortof astral, except he says the crashes occur without AC as well.

One of the most difficult kinds of bugs to track down when programming is a problem that doesn't manifest on any of the developer's own local machines, and doesn't happen for most users, but does sometimes happen for a few users out in the field.

So, unlucky for you, it seems you've encountered a mystery problem that doesn't affect most users.

If I were r1ch, I'd probably be inclined to care about a problem like this, right up until I read a post like yours above, after which I'd probably care quite a bit less.

I've had some crashes... but it's usually when I was doing some other stuff for bit and go back to it.

Maybe 3 or 4 times over the last year. Not a bad record here.

I've also had some map projects crash r1q2 right out on load, but that's my fault.

In life you will learn to understand that when you ask something of someone its generally a good idea to make them WANT to help you. I cant imagine you getting much accomplished in life if you were to run around talking shit to people who have offered there time and energy in creating something to be used not only by an individual but by a group of people. If you were to talk to like that to anyone in real life , I have a hard time believing you wouldn't get a fat lip and a cunt punt or two if it was me . Just sayin

lol you don't know aussies then. seriously i have tried to talk to r1ch about on irc, and what p[issed me off the most was that it had to be my computer, didn't entertain the fact that his anticheat could be the damn problem, and has really offered no help as to try and get it sorted
