However, I did purposefully leave a Cindy Lauper song on my phone for a very long time due to the epic LULZ one gets when it rings.

 It pisses me off. I use a regular old fashion ring for my cell phone. I don't want to hear someone's fucking favorite song. It's so annoying during class and some idiot turns off their phone

Back when I was in college, people were mostly using the kind of phones that didn't really have the song playing capability other than the crappy little electronic tunes the phones were loaded with. The professors in every class usually had a policy they clearly stated at the beginning of the first class, "Turn off ALL CELL PHONES AND PAGERS before class begins. If your phone rings during class, you will be told to leave and not to return until the next class date." Back then maybe 60% of everyone had phones. These days, idiots even give their 10 year olds phones.
