Like I promised I will be holding a 2v2 tourney in the near future happening shortly after NADL.

2 players v. 2 players
15 minute timelimit
maps: q2dm1, q2dm3, q2dm7, ztn2dm3, tastydm2
no timers
powerups 1 (on)

Servers:
IL, VA, NY, CA, TX, MO.. must pass NADL file check list.

Each team picks and kicks a map, the other of this determined by coin flip. The 5th map remaining will be used as the 3rd map in the set if needed.

All information/scheduling will be in this section of the forum. Please post here if your interested in participating, looking for a teammate, or already have a teammate. I want to get a feel for how many teams we'll have so I know where to cap signups off at, about. This will be happening shortly after NADL.

preferably you will have played with me before, binds are a must and vent/skype is a big plus. I don't expect to win by any means but I always like to give things a good go :>

im interested - dont have a teammate at this point.

Im wondering though - is it a possibility to consider allowing timers? I do like them. They do make things more intense I find (as in, both teams know very well when quad is gonna pop up).[ I know there's a clock and there's an argument about having better skills when you keep track of time by yourself.]

If the admins have some flexibility on that issue - that'd be great. Otherwise Im still in of course.

Yeah laur, I don't think I can enable timers when you and pyrex are the only 2 I've seen that like them recently, in America. The vast majority do not use timers and it would be unfair to try to get them to do so..... not to mention timers v. no timers isn't exactly fair either. If the majority of participants want them then I'd consider it... just really doubt that though.

What do ya'll think about the map list?

Looks good but IDK about q2dm7. Personally I never found that map fun in duel or teams. It's too easy to control weapons on that map, bleh. Perhaps replace it with torment or q2rdm2?

I can agree with barton about dm7 - but I like that there's a map with no rail on the list. If changed - please keep at least a map with no rail.

Hmmm. I can't think of one right now that's better than dm7, but you can always vote it off.

q2dm7 is an excellent teams map.... Not really the best duel map, I agree, although some people love it...... no chaingun either! I think it's an excellent choice to have though...

You could debate that q2rdm2 is mostly a duel map opposed to 2v2 (obviously not a 3v3 or 4v4 map). It's extremely rail heavy, very out in the open, and in 2v2 rail control can be a lot more lopsided than in a duel. I did consider q2rdm2 though, about as much as q2rdm1 but this isn't euro land...

edit: Why don't you like dm7 for teams lor? I would assume that some rail heavy players might not like this one, but you just said that you'd like a map without a rg :>

I don't know - I think I tend to dislike maps with RA. I don't hate dm7 - I would defenitely have it over chastity which is just rail. I was just thinking there could be better non-rail maps than dm7.

I wonder if the dm7 modified would be interesting?! (dm7mod)

either way I dont really care.

Not enough weapons in teams, and I don't like the layout or flow of the map. Honestly though, I would play it because I'd play any map, even q2rdm2 which gets pretty ridiculous with the rail rape.
