New Mod: Chaingunz [++nades added++]

BUILD 3
Hopefully the last time i compile this shitmachine. You get nades!!! Yey! They are unmodded, however, therefore do use them only if you like a challenge.
Version 3 attached.


update v2
Gives you back full health (200) after you get a frag. This way you won't get predictable score patterns (especially 1v1). Now you can really test your chaingun skillage


My friend and I got bored of playing each other in popular Quake II mods. We both know rails very well, so I decided to make a joke mod: Chaingunz.

- Everyone starts with a chaingun and 200 health.
- All pickups removed.
- Chaingun has unlimited ammo (uh-oh!)
- No nades (sorry railz server naders)
- Oh yeah and the chaingun skin is different. It's in the cha2k folder now. The model is the same, with a different path for the skin -.-

I only compiled for windows because I hosted listen servers for my friend. If you want a linux build, do it yourself (source included).

But frankly, it could take 2 minutes to recreate this shitmachine by anyone. I posted this because of the lol-factor. 1 on 1 was rape, let's see this on a larger scale  :bananaw00t: :bananaw00t: :bananaw00t:

I find this interesting because you never really need to stop firing. You could pretty much type +attack into the console and run around :P

lol... i could see that working with some tweaks... like... you get so much ammo, but it regenerates really fast, that way you cant just spawn and hold down the fire button

how bout this. its not 100% uptime; just a windows r1q2 server for fun. ill spec it as long as i can so join (like asap if possible).

the game dll is made directly from ID's 3.20 baseq2 source. don't exploit any 3.20 gamex86.dll bugs pls  :'(

i can mod the fire rates and explosion radius, damage etc

The challenge is what makes it fun.

Remember that the best naders can effectively do 200 damage almost immediately to anyone who follows them. So nade vs. chain fight is pretty exciting. The chain wins out once the nader runs out of quick cover, but naders can cause splash and attack from behind walls.

You should have seen Quadz and me go into an epic grenade battle at qcon. We put grenades in places on dm2 that I didn't know were possible until it happened.
