Proof Anticheat lags

Anticheat only works in r1gl so it should be better then if he's right.   

I'm using the default opengl and my ac is valid and I tested using software mode and aclist says that my ac is also valid.

on the anticheat site it said "an approved rendered" & r1gl is listed.  I've never had it work with OGL or software.  It loads but it says it doesn't work?

ac never gave me any problems when i was running in software... maybe i just wasnt paying attention o.O

on that note, anticheat works with egl and aprq2 which have their own renderers... so no r1gl is not required for it...

alpha, have you tried switching over to aprq2 to test it?

yup. tested it on software mode just to test. Im running the default opengl and works fine.

have not read all the posts because im too lazy but try going on a euro server vs a u.s server just to see if there is any diff

download the q2kicker and add the exception in your AV for anticheat in that

it runs aprq2 and if you can run that entire client set up without those problems, then its just something messed up with your client, easiest fix would just be to start using a dif client

ok i think i have stopped my ac from lagging. i reloaded it on my pc, with my virus scanner switched off, i then switched off my other security programs apart from my firewall and it seems to be running perfectly smooth now. So anyone else who is experiencing anticheat lag i would suggest switching off any live protection programs u may have because for some reason it may be causing the lag. i tested it by switching my other security programs on while i had ac loaded and i started to get some lag again. Hope that it is the case cause i have it running really smooth now.

Anticheat also seems to have a tendency to make you lag if your bandwidth is really low. Try running a speedtest to a server in USA, Alpha.

ok i did a test from my location in australia to server atlanta GA distance was 9050 mi, download speed was 1.27Mb/s, upload was 0.20Mb/s, ping was 251ms, and i got a rating of 3.7/5

Dunno then, maybe anticheat requires a 5 meg connection?

I got over the anticheat lag simply by going to the main menu (press Esc.), scroll down to 'video', then change 'driver' from R1GL back to default OpenGL.

Rejoin the game, and the lag is gone.

Well it works for me...

told him to also add an exception for r1q2 and r1gl with his antivirus... might not have been anticheat at all we shall see

Rich changed way how ac works (few years back was horrible for slow connections)
ac now send 7-24 bytes only every second to ac server, so its cant be reason why u have lags
u should install programs like Net Limiter and check what programs r actually connected to internet while u playing q2 (check stats for traffic)


I had problem with ac few years back on 512/64kbit conn. (phone line is to long for better)
only way to play q2 was to limit cl_maxfps = 25 get on server. pass ac authorization, then ALT-TAB to NetLimeiter: kill connection to ac server, change cl_maxfps to 40 and play... 

with your conn u shouldn't have problems with ac
