I also created and uploaded .aas files for these maps so the gladiator bots on IRTDM2 will work with them.
q2rdm1 was actually pretty tough vs the bots when I was trying the maps to make sure they didn't crash anything.

Speaking of bots...

How the hell do you work those fuckers? I was there alone a week or so ago and tried starting a 2v2 match with bots but never could get them to work properly. Couldn't get them to ready up either. I was somehow able to get 1 bot to work and start a 1v1 with rcon stuff commands.

hm... irtdm2 is where they work i think, you can vote them in with the vote menu, just hop in a team, vote 3 bots in, and they SHOULD set it up for 2v2 themselves, ready up yourself, and the bots should ready up...

if it doesnt work like that :P complain to derv til he fixes it lol

heh. sometimes they lose their minds... not sure exactly why.
If they ever seem locked up on you, vote a new map. (vote map mapname)

That tends to get them to disconnect. If they don't, but they jump back onto teams, ready up and when the match starts, forfeit out or vote it to 1 minute long (vote timelimit 1) so the match ends. At this point they should GTFO.
If they're still in at this point, it's borked completely and you should contact me in IRC. :)

To get them into the game by voting, use this command:
vote addbot #
where # is the number of bots you want to add to the game.

You can also use the OSP Tourney voting menu to choose a specific one from the list.


to get rid of them:
vote removebot #
where # is the number of bots you want removed at random.

I've looked in the logs for anything and I didn't see any dropped connections. The server config and banlist is the same as IRTDM for the most part except for some voting options, so I'm not sure what could cause that. We should get together and try to pin it down some time tho, so you can enjoy all of our servers.

In other news, I added another map to the server. It's the 1st place map from the most recent Quake 2 Cafe' Mapping contest, called "Banana's House of Horrors" by Jester.
There's quite a bit of vertical action on it, and it looks gorgeous. Should be great for small team games or duels.

I can't clearly remember what happened, I was drinkin'... big surprise there.

I remember I got one to work alright. I tried adding more and that seemed to work, but then I had too many. I then tried voting to remove a bot to even the teams, but it only counted my vote as like 15% of the votes needed. I tried stuffing vote commands to the bots and it wouldn't work. I tried voting a new map and that wouldn't work because I didn't have a majority vote. I think I ended up having rcon killserver 1 to reset. I probably should not have done that though, if I remember correctly, that will erase the temp ban list from the memory. So if you had any bans in place that weren't added to an actual ban list, I guess they're gone now. Probably not though, you probably add any IPs and names to the lists manually as it happens. But just in case you didn't... SORRY MY BAD BRO. :-[

I've had to do that a couple times, and usually it's been after I tried drunkenly fiddling the bots around a bit and adding them via rcon commands. The only thing you'll break by doing a reset like that is any temp bans (I tend to add them to the list after I send them to the server so no real loss there) and the naming convention I manually force on my log files.

There are some tricks you should know that may help in the future:

1. If you aren't on a team yet and you propose a vote, it won't pass for some reason (I think I have it set to 51% approval) If you accidentally do make a vote before you enter a team, I think you can change the number of players that it's using to calculate that 51% threshold by putting in "reconnect" in console to quickly leave and return after it realizes that the vote meets it's conditions.

2. If you change the timelimit via rcon, with bots in game and on teams, it can crash the mod for some reason (silly osp)
Always try to change it via voting first.

3. "rcon sv allready" should force all teams to ready up. I think it's "allnotready" to unready everyone.
