i think you should disallow item timers in this next nadl they really are a standard for euro quake2, but most people here think they are kinda just cheap, and the tastyspleen tourney servers dont even allow them if you run anticheat so not many players will be getting practice in USING item timers

It's so easy to simply put a kitchen timer by your computer.... Anyway, I've seen that there are timer programs which you can bind to a key and they play the sound when you press it.

a kitchen timer...? lol ok... the best way to time items is by the CLOCK, you look at the game clock, and figure it out yourself...

and it isnt a timer PROGRAM its a built in feature, just add a sound file into your baseq2 folder or in a pak that lasts for so many seconds silently, and then in the last couple seconds it counts down and tells you armor is up... then you simply just alias timer "play 30s.wav;say_team ARMOR [20s]"

go watch some euro pro demos, they will keep getting team messages like that for armor, weapons, mh, ect... you wont notice the timer in the demo though because you wont have the wav file or might have a different wav file

in america on the tastyspleen tourney servers, all but t4-noalias i believe, you cant use item timers, the play function is disabled by anticheat, so if you run anticheat you cant use the play function.... timers arent THAT important on most maps, they can make a big difference on some though like ptrip and dm3... and a very large majority of tdm players in america cant even practice with timers so i just think it would be better to ban timers from nadl

Vae's stupid. anticheat doesn't disable play cmd for shit, I use timers on tourney4. Also, What eternity was talking about was a program, not the built in play cmd, Mr. know it all, He was talking about a third party program that people use for quake. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound when you rant like this and you always turn out to be wrong?

It was always supposed to.

t4 gets out of sync with the other servers' config, because it still runs from r1ch's account, and my scripts don't automatically update it there.

Timers are banned in nadl..... it wasn't even a question. They were last season as well. Timing is very simple in q2 opposed to other fps's, the use of timers is kind of silly.

hm... reading some of scooby's stuff he wrote on the matches from last nadl...

even though i used timers same as damiah did

that was taken from the nadl page on his write up of his match vs damiah on ptrip

just had to check and make sure they werent allowed in the next one, i know timers used to be used in america not too long ago too and its only recently that the servers have stopped allowing them... i think >_> lol

timers are banned ??? why    ,timers are very helpful in duels,and it can be a deadly weapon if someone can master them,it will be cool if NADL allow the using of timers
