That helps explain why women are hidden away - and stoned to death if they are perceived to have misbehaved. Islamic law also forbids homosexuality. But the pedophiles explain that away. It's not homosexuality, they aver, because they aren't in love with their boys.

It doesn't require much effort.  There are several sites providing chapter:verse lookup, or keyword searches.

This site provides three different english translations; kind of interesting to compare between them.

That appears to be lacking some relevant context.

From the M. Asad translation:

2:190. AND FIGHT in God's cause against those who wage war against you, but do not commit aggression - for, verily, God does not love aggressors.

2:191. And slay them wherever you may come upon them, and drive them away from wherever they drove you away - for oppression is even worse than killing. And fight not against them near the Inviolable House of Worship unless they fight against you there first; but if they fight against you, slay them: such shall be the recompense of those who deny the truth.

2:192. But if they desist - behold, God is much-forgiving, a dispenser of grace.

I'm sure there are some genuinely unpleasant verses in the book; but it's disappointing to see whoever made that list start out with a blatant misrepresentation in the #1 slot.

So apparently the creator of the universe (which is billions of years old) speaks arabic, a language that's only existed for, at most, a few thousand years.

Does it also state that women should have pretty much no rights at all and be treated like property, or is that just a misunderstanding due to an incorrect translation?

From what I've heard from people who CAN READ ARABIC, the Koran was toned down a lot when it was translated into English.

And yes, it does state that the righteous will have plenty of virgins to have sex with in heaven .

Verily, for the Muttaqun [righteous], there will be a paradise...gardens and grapeyards...and young full-breasted maidens of equal age; and a full cup [of wine].

(An-Naba 78:31-34).

If I'm not mistaken, the Arabic word for "full-breasted" / "round-breasted" maidens is "WakawaAAiba" (sorry, I don't have an Arabic keyboard). Look it up for yourself, sofiene.

This is a specious argument.  Because apparently the arabs can't understand it in arabic, either.  After all, the extremist imams are reading the koran in arabic, too.  Are the extremist imams wrong about the koran?  Why are they wrong, if they're reading it in arabic?

And yet, homosexuality has been documented in hundreds of animal species, including primates.  (Humans are also primates, BTW.)  So why did Allah create so much homosexuality in nature?

I think it would be much easier to ask him:

Do you feel that Al Qaeda is a true Islamic/Muslim organization, or do you feel that they are heretics who pervert the Islamic faith for their own purposes?

I doubt he'll come right out and say, "Yes, I support Al Qaeda.", because... well... he's a pussy.
