I woke up early this morning to find that my television was still on. I had fallen asleep while watching football, but I guess my woman turned it to MTV2 afterwards. I otherwise would NEVER watch the shit that comes on MTV no matter what. I HATE that fucking channel. Anyway, Headbangers Ball was on, so I figured I'd watch it a bit. I was quite disturbed by what MTV is serving up as "metal" these days. But THIS god damn video in particular made me want to throw the fuck up.

Holy fuckin' sheep shit, I hope this little emo trend of adding disco bullshit to metal/hardcore doesn't catch on. It's taken the death metal sound and scene damn near 20 years to fight it's way up from the underground status it had in the early 90's, I'd hate to see it get watered down and killed off because MTV and similar popular music outlets decided to whore it out by way of bastardized genre-mixing for profit.

Metal was fine the way it was. It doesn't need synth pads, auto-tuner vocals, electronic programmed bass drums, synchronized gay headbanging, jogging suits, fancy emo gelled hairstyles of the short variety, and the all-important homo breakdown in every last fucking song. It's bad enough when these faggot (bundle of sticks) black metal bands wear retarded facepaint and boots with 500 ten inch long spikes all over them.

Even for the scream style that club-pop trance and auto-tune seems totally out of place. Neither of those elements enhance the dark melody of metal. Rather they clash with it. That's why it sounds very bad and weird.

THIS is what metal is supposed to sound like. And I normally can't stand that nu-hardcore bullshit (or whatever they call it these days), but Slayer managed to tap into a little bit with some of their song arrangements on this particular album and it didn't end up sounding exactly the same as all these other bands that seemingly live for no other reason but to copy one another.
