Ok, I'm finally sick enough of my piece of shit dell laptop to build myself a new computer.

I've already got some hard drives kicking around, and a friend is going to give me his old vid card until I save up more money and buy a good one.

Here are all the components I'm buying, Perhaps you could give me your opinions on them. I'm on a super tight budget, so i'm not really going for top of the line stuff, but i think these components are pretty good. This is going to be my first time building a computer from the ground up.

Well personally I think you should save up and go with Socket 939, it will give you more upgrade options in the future and the ability to run RAM in Dual Channel.

As far as the RAM, you can get a single 512MB stick for about as much as the double pack.

The case looks nice.

That processor does come with a heatsink and fan.

Since this is your first time here's a little warning. Be careful with the processor, don't touch the pins on the bottom or you will screw it up.

I bought the system this afternoon. The whole thing was kind of a whim, which is unusual for me. The whole thing cost me 200 bucks. I probably should have gotten the single 512 stick now that i think about it, because i have some smaller sticks hanging around that i could have slapped in there. Oh well. Thanks for the warning on the processor, I'll definitely be careful with it. More on this when the stuff arrives.

Doesn't Newegg ship with FedEx?

It's been awhile since I ordered from them, but FedEx always got the stuff to me on time.

I always thought Newegg packaged things kinda weird, I oredered this screen protecter for my LCD,

Oh, they didn't offer UPS last time I ordered from them. Next time go with FedEx, they seem to be pretty good.
