Wtf kind of crap is that? It was running just fine without that requirement. Now that I downloaded Q2Pro, it doesn't allow you to change the mouse speed or the option to always run. Is there a modification to the config to get my old settings back?

There is no tastyspleen server I know of that has AC forced, beside the sg-tourney servers that are on one way goto... not run by tastyspleen.

As for getting your old settings back, did you backup your cfg?

Settings can always be added to a new cfg, dunno why/how q2pro would not allow you to change anything.

It's not globally forced, but your IP is within a recent forced AC subnet.

BTW, there are other options besides Q2PRO. Possibly R1Q2 or EGL or AprQ2 would be more to your liking. However, it's hard to believe Q2PRO doesn't understand the "sensitivity" or "cl_run" commands.

P.S. when people say things like, "Such crap that you need to d/l the anticheat when its been overrun by hackers anyway!", as you said in the shoutbox, they often find themselves with forced AC anyway. So welcome to the club!

Hi,

I noticed your forum account was registered in 2005, so I apologize for the flip answer.

Over the years I've had a number of unpleasant experiences with players who have a certain pattern of behavior that includes loudly disparaging anticheat (usually while concurrently crying 'hax' on half the better players on the server.)

Have you been able to resolve the configuration issues with Q2PRO?

lol yes you are correct Peewee. You must be in another time zone as I am on the EST. I am on the road alot as a truck driver so I usually only get on during the weekends.

But anyway, I haven't had any luck with q2Pro and still can't get in with regular Q2. Is there a way that my IP can get an exception so I don't need to use these anticheats?

Ok, here is what I get when I try to run R1GL:

R1GL was unable to load the colormap (pics/colormap.pcx).

I have looked up this problem but none of the solutions seem to have been what I need. I reinstalled Q2 as well as the patch and still get the same error. Wtf? Can we just get my IP an exception please?

I've heard of other people having that same colormap.pcx error, but as far as I know, no one has really been able to pinpoint what causes that. If you have a way to edit pak files (and know how to do it), try overwriting/replacing this file in the pak0.pak found in the baseq2 folder. It's the stock colormap.pcx from the Quake2 CD. Be sure to check through any higher numbered paks and make sure there are no other colormap files found in those paks (files in higher numbered paks override files of the same name in lower numbered ones) as they could be broken.

Yep, I downloaded a 3rd anticheat and found that it worked out. Have to say its not bad with all the renditions it offers esp with the water and adjusting colors and whatnot. It should work from here.

I had the colormap error out of the blue a few months back, found it and just put in the appropriate regular folder.

Might have been the q2 I use for map and demo editing.

I liked the rendering in EGL, but I was never able to use it as easily as R1Q2 + R1gl. It took forever and a day to load maps, and if I was in a room with a few people firing rockets, it lagged like a motherbitch. Never had the patience to tweak the graphics to make it run smooth. I figured if I couldn't have it running with the graphics maxed, then I might as well stick with R1Q2.

How hard would it be (or is it even a possibility) to compile a version of Anticheat compatible with 3.20? A while back I tried fucking around with box jumps in the megahealth room on Q2DM1 and found that I could make the leap from yellow armor to the box above the ammo pack a lot more often using 3.20 than with R1Q2.

It defaults to 1 in R1Q2, which allows separation of render FPS from client packet rate; however it may change the feel of jumps somewhat.

Setting cl_async 0 in r1q2 should make it identical to 3.20.

Well I'll be damned... I looked through my config and didn't see it in there even though I thought I've always had it set to 0. Just hopped on irtdm and typed in cl_async and it says 1.

Not that it really matters at this point, until I get around to the ethnic cleansing of this system to wipe out the rootkit/virus/whatever that I have, I can't really play anyway. I wouldn't be able to tell a difference the way my shit's running now, pausing from netgraph spikes every 1 second.
