Can't connect to jump

For the last week or two.

I have a modified step1.wav file apparently (I assume step2-4.wav will be the same and probably a few others).  I understand these files are in pak0 or pak1.  I've never modified a pak file.  Don't really know how that's happened.  I know I've never heard any footsteps in Q2 for years though.

Anyway, have the anticheat parameters changed recently for the jump server?  Nothing's changed with my config as far as I know and I am using the latest anticheat build.

AC isn't forced on jumpmod (unless your IP happens to be within a forced-AC subnet).

What exactly happens when you try to connect?

I think the badfile action setting is set to kick people for anything beyond a certain number of bad checks. I've seen a few people get kicked for hash list violations there in the past week, so it would seem to be a recent change.

How bizarre.

sv_anticheat_badfile_action was indeed set to "0" instead of "2" on jump and t4-noalias.

No idea how it got that way.  It's "2" in the .cfg file.

(Fixed, for now at least.)

And,  I think there is a command to turn footstep sounds on and off.

I never knew it till I saw it in some auto-cfg maker back in 04-05.
  But when I discovered it turned enemy footsteps off as well as your own I changed it back.

I remember having an argument with Col Kurtz years ago about this. He couldn't understand that I heard his footsteps, even though he had turned them off. I told him I had them turned on, and his settings did not affect mine, but he accused me of some kind of hack. It was easy to get into an argument with Kurtz tho.

LMAO sounds like vaegina.. But yeah if your dumb enough to believe your own settings will affect other people you are bound to run into alot of arguments, which you will lose.. Hence the vaegina part  .

rename your anticheat.dll or move it out of the folder.

Fixed again.  Hopefully permanently this time.  (I still don't know why it started defaulting to "0" instead of "2".)
