Some flexibility would be nice.. I mean a few hours early? wtf?

Remember when I played haunted WAAAAAAY ahead of schedule for a tourney because he was heading to Europe for some gay reason or another.

I could do that. If I can arrange an earlier match then I can definitely lose early and get it over with.

sadly, because lots of people who aren't playing want it casted, I dont think that's gonna fly.

Feel free to try and talk about it with shun and get ignored tho.

I first read about this on ESR, which made it clear that it was going to be two days. If you read the SG website, it doesn't really mention the schedule. Looks like a honest mistake.

Yeah but SG is running the tourney and not ESR. It's like the rules have been changed to facilitate live-casting opposed to competition.

True. IDK why it's like that. I thought they'd start the live cast for the last few set of matches before the finals, since those are going to be the interesting games. If people want to see the other matches, they could just get the demos since everyone is being forced to make them for every match they play.

just because shun can make posts on ESR doesn't make SG and ESR affiliated though.

my opponent didn't know either. It wasn't clear at all and not only are they not being flexible, but i'm getting rude responses in return. I have a point and it's not getting addressed.... this cup isn't aimed to support the q2 community like you'd think.

My point is that Shun did say that the event was going to be a 2-day deal. He just didn't do a good job of it, maybe. ESR has nothing to do with my point (he just posted the schedule there).

well, its obvious to me that its being all played over saturday and sunday...

BUT i gotta say, shun doesnt know a damn thing about quake2 :/ this obviously isnt quakelive so he should stop trying to treat it as such... i have said before, they arent going to do a good job running this cup because they dont know the community at all

you shoulda got off work this weekend for it anyway if possible :/ i think if you could play your match early that would be great, however, you would be a no show for second round so that wouldnt work unless you can at least leave work early...

if you want to try and find a work around, talk with your boss, and talk to the sg guys BESIDES shun, shun is the most unhelpful tourney organizer i have ever seen :/

Dude I'm going to work. $=. I might have to bulldoze through the first 2 rounds while talking to motel guests on the phone and a ball mouse but w/e. We'll see if the computer can even handle firefox tomorrow.

It seems to me that if an event is scheduled to take place at a certain time and you cant make it during that time, then dont sign up

round 1 was the only thing visibly scheduled failwolf. And you know, if people didn't act like I had no point whatsoever, which your statement indicates, I wouldn't be so adamant about it. EVERYONE who I've talked to, except for quakelive players, made the same mistake I did. But it must be 100% all of our faults and no one else? Whatever. I'm not the one who can't admit faults here.
