XATRIX & XRAZY

With the recent explosion of new map overrides, I would like to suggest that ALL (including the classic) maps be made available on the XRAZY server and the XATRIX server would have the stock maps.

It's frustrating that a player has to jump from one server to the next to play certain maps.

And last maps uploaded on xatrix (faderjok maps) are more "xrazy style".

I'm not particularly happy with the current situation, but I'm also not in favor of making XRAZY an "all maps" server.

Personality conflicts aside, I think spawngirl has achieved something unique and interesting with her stylistic and thematic map choices on XRAZY, and I like to play there because of the maps.  I don't think a map like, say, xzack_02 would fit in there at all.

But of course, by declining to add a map override to XRAZY, I have no other place to add the map but XATRIX... which doesn't really work well either.  I'd agree XATRIX would be better suited to stock maps + some of the custom maps which are in the style of the stock/classic maps.

And so...?

The only option I can think of that satisfies the above constraints, is to create a third server!

Yes, because

Xrazy- Spawn girl blocks out ALL maps that ARENT hers. Sure, she adds some of zeps maps, but she Wont listen to anyone else so thats a dead end

Xatrix- Reserved for regular stock maps like xdm1

??NewXatrix???- An open server that all custom overrides go. Exterminaders, Zeppelins, mine, and anyone willing to add an override will go here on an xatrix server with %1000 less the bullshit

Also, Why cant we just add SOME of them to xrazy? I dont care what spawn girl says, If we want them there then SO BE IT! She can whine all she wants for all I care

I'm not sure how a 3rd server totally addresses my request, unless you're talking about a 3rd server that has EVERY map available.  If that's what you're offering, and that's the only way I can go to one server for all maps, then I guess I'll take it.

Everyone here knows how to mymap, and has their favorite maps.  It would be nice to be able to play your favorite map, without having to jump to another server and invite players away from another.

Thanks for your consideration.  I'd love to hear more details on your proposed 3rd server.

I think quadz wants all the maps to fit in together. But im all for one huge repository of maps on one server! Quadz want for organization, We want conveniency

I vote for 1 server where all maps are availabe. (also the xrazy maps)

Also all maps should be in rotation so that we can discover and experience which maps are available.

I think I agree with Quadz position. Xatrix maps have more of a vanilla Q2 look and architecture. Xrazy maps have their own look, mostly cityscapes and the occasional outdoor map. Having a 3rd server (sort of like a MUTANT server for Xatrix mod) for maps that don't fit into either category seems like the best idea to me. Having one server with EVERY map would basically eliminate the need for the other 2.

I wasn't trying to be a dickhead with my last post, just stating the obvious. If you want to play those maps, GOTO that server and do it. If you want someone else on another server to come play with you for a specific map, use the invite command, or use GOTO and go where they are and tell them. Simple.

Having 1 server with every map would promote more players in games, rather than jumping to the other server. Keeping a server for classic style maps would satisfy players who don't want to wait out downlaods, and or wish to play the more typical maps.  GOTO works, sure. Invite works too.  It's just a pain, and I'm not giving anyone any guff.

It would also (more than likely) promote the demise of the other 2 servers. Honestly, would you play on those servers anymore? Probably not. Quadz is looking for organization and similar maps. If only he kept his house that neat and organized. Have you cleaned that damn room yet, Quadz?

I wouldnt mind if there would only be one single server.

Most of the time all the players are on xatrix, while xrazy is empty, or vice versa.

And 1 server seems more organized to me than 3 with a fragmented xatrix community.
