Quake II server browser

Since Gamespy and All Seeing Eye is no longer much help in finding servers, I thought it'd be a good idea to directs players' attention to a "new" server browser to help keep the game alive.

I know some of you use R1Q2 but many don't and may not have stumbled upon a program tucked away in its forums.  A while ago R1ch released QSB - http://www.r1ch.net/forum/index.php?topic=1840 It pings a couple hundred servers globally.  So, if you have a much more disorganized method of finding servers or pasting IPs consider giving this a try.

I like qtracker.  It does pretty much everything.

Never heard of qtracker either, i'm downloading it atm looks cool

If you don't mind a little bloatware, xfire is pretty decent.

It doesn't find EVERY q2 server out there, but it has some nice features like gametime logging, built-in text chat and video/screen capture, and voice chat, and it's showing about 250 q2 servers right now.

oh how I know only too well. I wish it didn't log the hours of World of Warcraft I have played.

lol unless your gonna play global i dont think that a server browser is really needed...

just /connect tastyspleen.net then goto thats all i do

there's a decent amount of servers on the western hemisphere that aren't part of the wallfly network, so a seperate browser is worth having.

Plus, odds are, you don't want to join a server & keep searching for one to actually play on, most browsers allow you to connect directly & show the players/stats.  qtracker will alert you when players with specific names are on too.
