When he comments "how she looks" it's more of the illusion of how a pop star looks, acts and carries themselves. It's easy to create this these days, even if you have no natural beauty. Gwen Stefani comes to mind. In fact your first take will be be that she's attractive without really looking. And when you're pandering to 13 year old girls, it's not too hard to fool them.

There was a song back in the 80s that sums it up: "She Ain't Pretty, She Just Looks That Way".
