heh. Either way, I think you may be right about the file not found giving the same result.
I tested again with a different setup from home and was able to get kicked for lacking a male/tris.md2 and in the logs it's showing the all zeros hash.

To fix this, I've changed my .md3 hash to show a slightly different value that still won't match anyone's models, so there will be no question about what happened in the future, and Razor's spikes will still be blocked and their attempted use logged.

Btw, if you could read, you'd notice that nobody with a 'completely stock Q2' would be hit by that check, so you're stupid and/or a liar.

You would have to have removed your pak with all the loud sounds first, and then probably renamed your brightskin pak if it contains any models, and then removed your players folder entirely to get past the sound checks that normally kick you and to the model checks and then get a file not found error.

sooo if you were trying something, don't bother again or next time it'll be 100% proven.

and historically I wouldn't think quadz sides with dervish or focalor. I think historically he sides with fairness and sensibility.. half or more of the community possesses that same integrity. If anything, he has encouraged this(if quadz was indeed buddies with some admins and people who he has met in person at quakecon, no one would even see a difference anyway).
