I just upgraded from Vista to Windows 7. Everything seems great but, my crosshairs in Q2 are gone, I have added a new pak file with crosshairs and still nothing, any ideas?

It sounds like you turned your crosshairs off.
Try typing set crosshair 0 or 1 or 2 or 3 in the console to see if the crosshair changes. If the crosshair files are properly defined the game should pick them up. Crosshair 0 turns off all crosshairs.
Here's a bind I use, it allows the insert key to scroll the crosshairs or you can command c1, c2 , or c3 for a nice shorthand substitute for the crosshair command.
// Crosshair Option
alias c0 "set crosshair 0;bind INS c1"
alias c1 "set crosshair 1;bind INS c2"
alias c2 "set crosshair 2;bind INS c3"
alias c3 "set crosshair 3;bind INS c0"

Thanks but that did not do it. Strange thing is if I play in software mode they are there, soon as I go to open gl they are gone. When I type set crosshair 2 a very very small dot appears but not for 1 and 3, and the dot is much smaller then the standard crosshair.

Sounds like you have a pak file overriding the default game crosshairs.

Still no luck, I even uninstalled and reinstalled the game to make sure. My video drivers are up date as well, I just can't figure this one out!

Try out some png crosshairs if you have a client that can use them.
This pak has 1-11 I think.

Which clients can run them? I have tried to run some clients and keep having problems with them as well, missing dll files and such

I have the same thing with all other q2's. r1q2 and regular quake2.exe are the only ones that don't give me that mssg or something similar.

DM server is fucked. 2 point blank rockets from spawn and lava damage and player survived? WTF?" Also someone has fucked with the spawn points, every single time no matter how big the map you spawn right in front of the person who killed you last
