haha yeah, she was going into her senior year of college, so she moved in during that summer break, went back to school in the fall, id pick her up or stay there every weekend, so I had a little break... but come spring she was back for good... we've had the money problems... drug problems... drinking problems... got through them so we aren't doing that bad, there isn't anything really pending left that is a normal relationship breaker. except her sucking new dick and children, and we aint having kids.

^ worked for me. We're now happily married. I was the one with financial problems and changed my attitude about it. I'm much tighter with money than her now. We have a future to build together and I'll take the reigns with her resources if that means we won't have to worry too much about it. Hell she hunkered down and dug herself out of a 25k debt.

It's good that you're smart enough to keep certain firewalls in place to where her financial numbskulledness can't affect you, although it probably still will since you love her and may still feel obligated to help her out of the holes she digs. And yes, with people like that, a lot of times you just have to let them experience the consequences of their own mistakes for them to really learn what you've tried like hell to beat into their brain with a sledgehammer. And even then, sometimes they learn the lesson and turn around and repeat the same behavior the minute things start looking up. You seem really smart about it, so I'm also gonna assume you know to not put her name on anything along side yours when you get married. Things like the house, car titles, checking accounts, credit cards, keep them all separate as if you are two individual people. When most folks get married, they get all consumed with lovey-dovey emotion and just loooooooove to see both of their names on the checks and the credit cards.

I'm still pretty bitter about my last one doing me so wrong, even though I[/b] am to blame for a lot of it for simply allowing myself to be dragged along with it. Since then, I've vowed to NEVER get married. If I meet a woman and want to spend the rest of my life with her, I'll just do it without the marriage. These days, marriages don't really mean that much anyway because so many people get divorced left and right. They all end up fighting over who gets what when it's over. For me, I just think it'd be best if me and another person just have what's ours, share it when we want to, and take what's really ours if we decide to walk away.

And yes, no kids for me either. For one thing, that's something that leaves ongoing troubles for both people if a relationship dissolves, and it's even worse for the kid. No kid deserves that shit when they have done nothing to cause it or had no say in it. Plus, I just don't think I have the patience to be a good parent. I have a pretty quick temper that I've inherited. My great grandfather was a total drunken dickhead, and so my grandfather never really knew a good properly functioning father figure, so he didn't didn't know how to be a genuinely loving caring father, so neither did my dad, so I'd probably be just like my dad. I'm not saying that my dad is a total worthless dick like my great grandfather, far from it. He's always been extremely responsible, always made sure he provided for our family, just like his dad always did. But like his dad, he was always pretty critical of everything, more prone to pointing out how shit could've been done better than focusing on what was done right. I'm pretty sure I'd be the same way with my kids if I had any seeing as how that's how I already am with everything else in life.

ahhhhh yeah women like to throw away money. But after you've been through a couple dozen of them and find a half-way decent one, i tend to let stuff like irrational spending slide.. as long as it doesn't get TOO out of control. I'm drunk... ya'll know what I mean. Women are women. I feel ya jager.
