How to spectate?

Hi,

I've seen a lot of players on xrazy "moving to the girls room". So far I thought that means they disconnected (they don't appear on the scoreboard anymore) but that doesn't seem to be the case. It has to be some spectator mode, which I can find nowhere documented.

What command is it?

Or if you don't want to waste the 5 seconds it takes to bring down the console and type that, you can simply add binds to your config. Here's the spectator mode binds from my config:

Those are two separate individual CFG files, the only purpose of them is to display a fancy message with special characters at the top of the screen when I hit those binds.

I found a more simple solution:

Folcalor, how can i put a finnal message when the map ends?
Like "Good Game Gentelmen"

For the special characters like I have in my main GG bind, you'll need the little program called Q2Text to create the config file containing those characters. You can find it here:

It creates 4 lines of chat, and many servers are restricted to only 2 consecutive lines of chat at a time. For a one line message, you'll need to go back and delete the last 3 empty lines once you save the message to a CFG file.

I kinda explain how to use it on the page where the program is located. In the program, you click on the characters in the top portion and then click a spot on the lower message portion where you want it to go. Then when your message is complete, you go up to FILE and scroll down to SAVE AS, then name it whatever you want and save that cfg file to your c:/quake2/baseq2 folder. Then in your main "config.cfg", you bind a key to execute that file, something like this:

bind a "exec gg1.cfg"
