For me the rubberband effect only happens with anticheat loaded. I have been using r1q2 since its been available and have no problems with it after some tweaking.
I do think if someone really wants to play they will take the trouble to make some adjustments.

Could you describe what you mean by a rubberband effect? Did you disable the NVIDIA optimization if that applies to you? (See antiche.at FAQ)

Also if going from 3.20 to R1Q2, cl_async 0 and m_fixaccel 0 should be identical movement / mouse sampling to 3.20.

from 3rd person it looks sorta normal but that doesn't prove anything compared with a good in-eyes demo.

This...3rd person view is about 10x harder to find suspicion than 1st person view.

Have you tried the latest anticheat? I improved the netcode to cut down on bandwidth use, even though it was already pretty low.

Looks like Lanky is using anti-cheat now. He was doing some fairly accurate railing tonight so I thought I would just check the anti-cheat list. So I guess that's a good thing. The question I have is in the "files" column. I'm the only one who has "1" under that flag while everyone else is "0". What does this mean?

To see what specific file AntiCheat is flagging, type:

acinfo ReCycled

Probably a crakhor model or cyborg grenades like always. Just a false positive.

I have "acinfo'd" you before and it is your non-stock rg_hum.wav that is flagged as "invalid". No problem really.

To check yourself for invalid files just type: acinfo  (you don't need to type your own name when checking yourself).
To check others you need to type out their full name, including capitals and symbols but there's an easier way. If a player named "5tup!d^N1cKN4me" is failing some file checks, then you can just type: skins to see their client number.

Interesting....thanks PNJ. I wonder how it knows it's non-stock. The reason I ask is because it IS the same file that was in the Quake pak0 file. I simply took the original file and reduced the volume output to near zero. Then I re-embedded it back into the pak. When you think about there is nothing you could do to a railgun sound that would give you some kind of advantage anyway.

Some people have rg_hum sounds that have the volume kicked way up or they add beeping or some other noise to it so that they can hear an opponents position, kind of like the beeping BFG hum that some people use including me. The beeping BFG hum that I use, the same one featured in the weapons sound ZIP file in my pak item archives (as well as my current custom pak), is not flagged as a modified file by anticheat on the TS servers. Yeah, I admit it's kinda lame to use such a thing, but I think it's less lame than camping with a BFG.

Interesting Foc. I never thought of it being used as a "locater". As long as you didn't change the gun I guess. I've noticed on Railz that people seem to know right away where I am.

Yeah, sound recognition is a big part of playing a better game. In 1v1, you can tell where your opponent is by item pickup sounds a lot of times. If you hear a certain number of armor shard sounds in a row, you can tell where they are and either try to avoid them or attack them. If you have headphones or your PC speakers up load enough, you can hear footsteps coming. In FFA, you can tell how close to dying someone is by the pain sounds they make. Sometimes if you hear two guys in the next room going at it, you can time it just right to where you can wait a bit and then fly in with a chaingun when they're both low on health and collect both frags with a lower risk of being fragged yourself.

That's why I love how simple and easily modified most things in the game are. In my own pak, I've selected sounds for everything that I can easily identify without it sounding ridiculously out of place. Gun pickup sounds are slightly different from ammo pickup sounds. Powerup pickup sounds are different too. I have different sounds for item respawn and player respawn sounds as well so I can easily differentiate between the two. I have a neat sound that Goatkilla found which makes the rockets make a bit of an air whistling sound as they fly through the air, which can sometimes be useful. If you hear whistling getting louder and louder,... INCOMING!!!!

Changing the volume, or modifying the sound in any way, means one or more of the "numbers" that constitutes the sound from the computer's "point of view", will change.  And if any number anywhere in the file changes, the file is not the same as the original.
