cpma... well...

for one, if you want to play cpma, there is a couple things you can do... hop on the server and hope some one joins lol or you can join the pickup game irc channel, play some pickup games (ctf, occasional tdm) or you can ask for a duel...

however... i dont suggest hopping into cpma play quakelive, cpma people will tear you apart unless you are at least decent.... at least quakelive has a good chunk of noobs to bash around cpma is all veterans now


anyway, on topic... thinking of playing blood omen again (the first one!) and wondering if i should find my playstation disc for my psx emulator on my computer, or if some one can suggest a different system to emulate to play it... idk what system it was originally released for :/ i just know i have a special collectors edition for psx... and to anyone who hasnt played the legacy of kain games DO IT blood omen, blood omen2, soul reaver, soul reaver2, defiance... EPIC

Am I really the only one willing to admit that soul reaver sucked? They took some good ideas, gave them abysmal controls, pretended it was all about story and graphics (providing some of the worst graphics of its day), and then tied it all together with vomit inducing bad level design.

I think everyone just lets that game slide on the coat-tails of it's predecessors.

wont be good at the new ones if you cant be good at the old ones why would quakelive not run if you can run cpma? i dont understand... its the same engine, same game...

cpma is epic i do love to play it some times, but the community is pretty small and it wouldnt be good for some one starting out... youd be better off at least getting a good foot hold in quakelive before you hop into some cpma ctf pickups or something

quakelive is easy to configure, and you can play noobier players and work your way up i dont know where your skill level stands right now... but if you are TOTAL noob, like dont even know the difference between bunny hopping (qw bunny hopping not that hopping shit noobs talk about) and strafe jumping (quake3 style not q2 style, but fairly similar) and how to do both... then i suggest you dont even think about touching cpma yet lol

i would play the quake games in single player a lot before i ever touched online, so when i started out i already kinda sorta knew what the weapons were good for, and i kinda sorta knew how to strafe jump and bunny hop and ramp jump and all that and the cpma players still didnt like a brand new player joining for pickups... but on the bright side i always got the good players on my team lol

youd be better off playing quake4 than cpma if your skill level isnt exactly up to par at least quake4 has an active ffa server

i thought soul reaver was really fun but more as an adventure game, the fighting mechanics werent the best i know... they improved with later games on the ps2, but the games were never really about the combat defiance combat can be pretty fun, but its no god of war or devil may cry the legacy of kain games have an amazing story backing them though, and you have to play all 5 games to get all the pieces

deus ex: human revolution


got it installed and started the first mission last night.

died about 15 minutes in, which is prolly a first for me in any new game I've tried in years.

I'll play more later and chime in with my thoughts, but so far it's pretty, the movement feels ok once I got the sensitivity lowered, and I like the cover/stealth mechanic. It feels like a kind of smooth version of the Tenchu: Stealth Assasins cover/stealth system but with options once you are peering around the corner other than wait for them to get close and do takedowns.

I don't think I've seen peek-shooting around corners done this well before, and from what I can tell so far, the enemy AI isn't 100% horrible like so many other games. Never once did I have them try to all-out charge on my position when I got spotted. Instead they creep on me like I'm doing to them.

I can't wait to get further into it.

Lego Starwars (complete saga)

There's only a small amount of reasons why I enjoy it. The controls are simple. Light sabers don't suck (*cough* force unleashed *cough*). They didn't even try to use any stupid Wii-mote features. The physics are unapologetically glitched, and can be taken advantage of. And lastly, there are tons of secrets that remind me of games like Link to the Past. There's plenty of things that suck about it, but I find it fun.

Haha, I think my little nephews play that on PC. I was over at my sisters house a while back and my nephew drug me upstairs to play video games. I'm fumbling with the controls like an idiot, meanwhile he's killing all the bad guys and making me look foolish.

The Elder Scrolls is one of the Greatest of Greats.  It is a must have on any machine i own.  i have been playing with only the stock content more or less for many years now.  DeathStalker is huge on the mods, which there are countless quality mods to appreciate.  You can build many different versions of the game with Mods that will basically build completely different games.

Armor, be prepared. The main Quest doesn't take long at all. The beauty of this game is all the side quests and the Guild quests. When the main quest is over the game never actually ends. And once ALL the other quests are finished there are literally 1000s of MODS. Some only add things like weapons or armor, others can add totally new lands with their own quests, new towns, even overhaul its appearance and the way it acts.

But my first advise is to realize this is a all or nothing game. You'll either blow through the main quest in no time flat, call it lame and never pick it up again. Or you'll take your time with it, develop your character, see what the game really has to offer and get literally trapped in it's unrelentless grasp.
But just remember one thing, get out of the first dungeon  before deciding anything about the game. Once you set your eyes on Tamrial for the first time i think you'll be hooked.

Be carefull looking through this site, alot of the mods will have spoilers in the discriptions.
And I certainly wouldn't advise getting into mods until you've finished the vanilla version as much as you possibly can.
As awesome as the are, if you haven't done almost everything you can vanilla style first they can actually distract you and take away from the game rather than give to it. some can even break the game if you haven't finished certain quests or stages of a quest that a particular mods modifies.
