dm2 server

Howdy,

I've gotten a lot of requests lately to add custom maps to the dm server.  However, as we've thrashed out on the forums in the past, the dm server was set up because some players specifically wanted a server that runs only id Software deathmatch maps.

So, I've set up a dm2 server. (GOTO DM2)

It's got dm1-8, plus some small-to-medium sized custom maps.  Generally I've tried to avoid maps with custom textures, but, it's not an absolute rule so there are a few, like jstress, krypton, wddm05, ...

maxclients is currently set to 10 (9 players + wallfly.)

Powerups default to "off" but can be enabled via mymap.  (Special mymap flags like +ia, -ws, -h, -a currently are not allowed.)

The current rotation is basically dm1-8 interleaved with 8 custom maps:

This is just a first draft.  Suggestions/improvements are welcome.

DM2 seems to be my new stomping ground.. call me biased if you will.

I would like the default dm2 maplist to be some really top quality deathmactch maps...  Gator has suggested that any custom maps on dm2 should have a similar size and feel to id Software's dm maps.

The current maplist contains some I threw in for experimental purposes to see how they would play, but I don't think all of them work well.

I'm definitely open to suggestions & assistance with fine-tuning the dm2 maplist...

Well, it does sound like fun, but NO ONE IS ON THE SERVER every time that I go on! LOL

But, oh well.

With the limited time that I have during the day to play games, I've been jumping on DM2 every chance I get and inviting. I've only played 2 games on it with other players and I had a blast throttling my handicap up and down. I've never been in a situation where the noobquad setting mattered though. I think this is due to the few number of maps on that server that have a quad.
