burzum made some great stuff tho, like the link i just posted. that and filosofem are two black metal releases that you'll probably get a lot of shit from TRVE BLACK METAL PVRISTS for not liking. also its p much accepted that vargs music isnt as good now as it was back then.

i like the sound mostly because i love noisy music. i love shoegaze, drone, and noise rock. the way they incorporate lo-fi sounds helps towards the "atmospheric" style of black metal that most black metal bands strive for. besides, there's other styles of it as well, mostly utilized by more recent north american black metal acts such as wolves in the throne room, liturgy, and deafheaven who take an even NOISIER approach to black metal with the sort of "blackgaze" style that alcest had going for them as well.

honestly, black metal is the only style of metal i found that doesnt bore the shit out of me
