Pretty darn good energetic band. David spreads the spotlight around because he said he only wanted to be in a band; not just David Bowie and... He obviously is still the main guy, but it is good to see him play sax and guitar, as well as sing. The whole concert has good sound quality, but listening to the studio versions of the songs first makes you appreciate it a little more. Not for everybody, but as a long time fan ( I was listening to his LP's in the mid 70's) it is a gem.

i heard the avalanches are also coming out with a new album, and all they need to do is get permission to use the millions of samples they have. if boards of canada can release a new album, then the avalanches could do the same.

Never heard of The Avalanches before, but I dig their tunes! I especially like the first song, sounds a bit like house music.

Yeah, The Avalanches are amazing. That one album had more than 3,000 samples from other vinyls. For that song you posted, it's definitely really laid-back, and I like that in a song sometimes. It reminds me a lot of Bonobo (who also released a new album earlier this year). For some reason, I didn't really like Black Sands. It kinda bored me.

Also, you would like this song. Love the combination of that layered guitar and those simple beats.
