Actually, not true.  Mad cow disease comes from cows eating brain material from other dead cows (accidentally mixed in with their feed).  It doesn't work inter-species like you're saying. 

Humans can catch "mad human" disease from eating another human's brain.  It's very exclusive, you have to eat the brain of your own species for this to happen.  It will not happen if you eat the brain of another species.

Nope, it can spread inter-species.  It's believed the it first hit cows because of sheep brains, then humans because humans eating infected cow's.  It's mainly in the nervous system (brain, spine & fluids) but it can also be in any of the tissue of infected animals.  Pretty nasty, glad I've never seen it happen.
