If I start up a Tourney 2.76 server with an insta.cfg it doesn't crash as you can see in this screen. I also use r1q2, so I dunno.... perhaps refresh the server files(?)

hmm.. yea, you are right.
When loading the server with an insta-dm configuration, it works, but if the server is loaded with the insta-team configuration, it crashes when the map with overrides is loaded. (the map without overrides loads fine in both configurations)

that's weird.. but the OSP game library has 4 builtin mods in it, (according to what i read in the README file) this means that ffa and tdm are different mods, even if they are in the same game library. Maybe there is something in the override file that makes the tdm part to crash, but is ignored in the dm part.

anyway, if the irtdm2 server is going to be set up with an insta-dm configuration, there won't be problems, i think... just let's to do some tests to be sure about this...

hmmm.. I'd been testing it from a team perspective.

I'll set it up with the 500 config to test the map and see how it goes.

edit: it's workin now. server's up and the map is loaded.

alrighty then, the map's up and it's tested a bit.

I set the server up with no falling damage like last time, but instead of infinite ammo I started the players with 100 slugs and 5 nades.

I doubt anyone will be able to shoot 100 slugs without dying in this map, and if you're spamming them 5 nades go very fast, so it should be a good trade off.

I'm leaning towards 7pm EST for the kickoff.

OSP just sucks. I had a lot of weird problems with it when I used to change configs on the eom server. I figured out that you had to switch to one specific config before loading the config you wanted would be able to work properly. If you switched to instaTDM, you'd spawn with a blaster instead of a railgun. I went back looking through the weapons portion of those configs and they were set perfectly fine. For some reason you had to run the instaFFA config before going to the instaTDM config to make players spawn with railguns. Back when the server was on Gator's old box (r.i.p.

, was a great server), I think I remember RailWolf tinkering with the configs to get it working perfectly, not sure if that was OSP also though.

Final Scoreboard:

We got the map workin in time, and everything went smoothly for the second IR500!

Vigilante won the day with a 41 minute 500 frag victory.

I win for most deaths. I think I forgot to change my skin from the cow/blackcow to male/gprime like I normally use. Proof that everyone fuckin' hates cows.

After spending several hours placing and repositioning the spawns, I was hoping to play the map

. Unfortunately, it was waaaay too early for me. I can typically only play from 11:00 PM Eastern Time to around 12:15 AM Eastern Time later that night/the next morning.

Heheheh. It took -Vigilante 10 minutes longer to win this map than last ir500 map.
