Started play the Xatrix MOD, seen a few custom maps playing that I like.
And that Spawn Girl & EXTERMINADER are making the new overrides for Xatrix.

Also been teaching Spawn Girl how to use the Quake 2 entities for here overrides.

Le Ray's maps are DM, but he also has made some for the Awakening II MOD. started with leray27aw2.bsp and up.

Ahh right.. that jetpack in your video is a chaos model used in LOX.

We played some of leray's maps during the Chaos splatters fest oh so many months ago. The item placement seemed like it had been intended for Chaos (position of powerups and ammount of areas appropriate for the grapple, jetpack, and airgun jumps.). I must have assumed too much. LOL

Still great maps.

The first floor alone of leray33 is better than any floater ever made for quake 3 combined. The whole map is just ingenious.. Great work

Le Ray is a name that sticks in my head from my Chaos years. Good associations.
New maps are always awesome. Seems to be an awful lot of Le Ray's maps I just haven't seen. How about a Le Ray frag comp?

Guys thanks for the kind words. I really do appreciate it!! X7 is correct, all of my maps are DM and some were for Awakening 2. I had to stop mapping 4 years ago and just recently loaded Q2 and my mapping program again. I was really rusty at first, but X7 and a few others helped me with some of the things I forgot. Anyway, I just released the 2nd beta of leray34 for some testing over on The Q2 Cafe'. If all goes well, this one should be done this week, early next week.

I already have a good idea for leray35.

Again, thanks for all the kind words, it's great to know that people out there still enjoy my maps.

Everyone,
I wanted to let you know that I finished my new map Rebirth (leray34) this week and I uploaded it to your ftp site. This was my first time doing this, so I hope all the files are loaded. Please let me know if anything is missing.

Its medium sized and should be a fun place to frag! It took me less than a month to create this one. I hope you guys enjoy it!

Let me know what you think of it and thanks for hosting my map.

Now I'm on to leray35!

Yea it's me, hi dude:) Okay got the map and played it a couple of times. It's a very horizontal map and you can build up a lot of speed going through the outer 'ring'. The roofing could've been made a little higher though. Aesthetically I think an extra, second layer of rooftrim would've looked better and less cut off.
The brown, red and blue colors go well together and the map is easy to learn which is always a good thing. Of course I could make some suggestions on things like detailing, trims and textures but that is more a matter of taste and style. As for the item placement, with three sets of two large_health packs, nine small_health packs and a Mega it's overgenerous. It won't matter much in ffa games but with only two players there's a chance it might become frustrating for the hunting player to get his opponent's health down if the hunted is running in circles and trying to stay away from the center area. On the other hand it's pretty easy to locate the opponent so I dunno how that will work out. Good luck with your next map.
Oh by the way, I dont know how that next map is coming along but I know of a rather unknown metal texture set by U8Poo that I haven't seen used much yet. Maybe it can give you some inspiration for a future map. Here's a link to the set.

Thanks for the comments on my map! I will keep this in mind for future maps.

I just got the U8Poo textures loaded and I really like them! I will use them on my next map!

If you can think of any other texture sets, please let me know.

I haven't seen this one being played, but it looks cool!

In your screenshot I see the RA and mega health right next to each other. would you want to put the mega further away, maybe by a rail, so one guy has a little something, instead of the other guy have 200/200 and you're at the other end of the map with nothing. and maybe make the ra a little better area to control. dunno just a thought from the screenshot..

Looks great! I like the little details like the counter-rotating fans. It's so very cool to see people still spending time making maps for the greatest game of them all!

A few months may see a new and MUCH improved Fourwinds from yours truly. For now, I'm about to release a new and improved version of Ben2.exe for those who just can't get enough random mappage... stay tuned!

I'm working on leray35 right now, which should be ready in about a month, I'm hoping.
