I can't see any threads on this so yeah.. swine flu! :/

Started in Mexico apparently, 70+ dead (? maybe that's just infected I don't recall), 2 suspected in Scotland, 1 in Northamptonshire, thats all I know as far as the UK.

seems it's belived spring breakers who ignored the "don't go to mexico because of the drug "war" issues" are the ones spreading it. Confirmed in the US & cananda too, but only mexico seems to have it bad. Bad = people dying & not just getting better quickly.

Family went to Mexico for vacation, son or daughter came home with it.
The school they attend closed for awhile.

This sounded like a very cool premise of Asian countries returning to the ideas of isolationism up until the words "in addition". then it trails into some sci-fi plot that I would never be willing to follow.

Four cases in Nova Scotia, all in one small town - Windsor. Actually I'm on my way to Windsor in about an hour to buy some lumber and other errands. Luckily I have my bio-suit on to protect me....

Yeah I was just messing. IMO, some anime's take plots too deep for my taste. I would be satisfied with a movie about japanese isolationism in the future and a movie about bio weapons, but probably not both at the same time.

As for the swine flu, I'm the first skeptic to call anything small event trumped up overexaggerated media coverage (like covering shark bite victims on years that shark bites worldwide are lower than average)

In this case it is possible that this is becoming a real epidemic, even if small in scale to past outbreaks of other diseases.

last i heard 6 confirmed cases in Canada. Nova Scotia and BC

I bought an old (1910) farmhouse here and I'm renovating it from top to bottom. I know it was 1910 because when I opened up one wall, there was a 1910 calendar hanging there and sealed up by whoever built it back then. Already re-framed out the basement joists and taken out junk stuff done over the years. Now I'm working through the first floor, one room at a time. So I was just buying the usual. Bunch of 2 x 8's , 2 x 4's, insulation etc. I'll do all the electric, drywalling and plumbing too. Sure keeps me busy...
