I think that the conversation can continue and I want the individual members of the community to have a voice in it.

Some post statements that I'd like to make:

- I was not yelling at the Happy Friar, we had some feedback that doesn't get broadcast and I'm actually shouting over myself in order to hear myself.

- Anytime that I disagree with Friar, I managed to trail the conversation away from the most potent points that he makes, and implying that I disagreed with them. So here are some of the great points that he made that didn't get discussed as much as they deserved. So I'll reiterate them as I understand them:
a. The younger audience in newer games may have less patience to become developers. It takes patience to mod a game, also it takes patience to get used to older graphics and not just jump onto the newest prettiest game. It also takes patience to set up and configure older games that don't have openGL, W-A-S-D, and mouse look support set up as their default configurations.
b. Quake 1/2/3 are Dad's games. You'd be surprised at the amount of people that haven't played quake 1 or 2, let alone doom, wolfenstein, or even nostalgic NES games like Megaman and Contra. I know people my own age at work that assume that the words "the original battlefield" refers to Battlefield 2, and assume that Diablo means Diablo 2 because they've never even seen Diablo 1.
c. Quake 1/2/3 communities are grass roots fan based that support eachother and is run by fans. Quake live is run by id and fans don't have the same direct influence on the servers and setup. Also players don't have the same attachment to the game.
d. Will id and others misinterpret our intentions as stealing their audience, rather than supporting it?

- When I said "Jason, could you stop?" and "Being serious for the first time tonight" I was trying to make fun of myself and I didn't set up the jokes properly, so they came off as rude.

Thanks for re-iterating peewee, or else some of the finer points were sure to be lost. To recap the end of things that will give us some direction:
-The wiki will be an organizational tool to allow people to contribute painlessly, and see what's going on in as simple a manner possible
-We're going to have to be aware of the differing appeal between the older gamers and the younger gamers. Developers and Players are the main categories, and we'd like to cater to both.
-Cross-game communication will be a very cool thing, and a great way to get the different communities together under one aural roof.

So let's get this going

The WHOLE TFQ TEAM Thanks you guys for the mention, it is a grand team effort, not just myself, others are taking a breather because of RealLife things they need to get done, till then I just keep the Energon Fires Burning and keep on making new and exciting stuff.

It also takes patients to be a doctor. All the countless hours of studying in medical school to become a doctor... takes lots of patience.

I guess that here's the place to open the formal invitation to do the weekly movie reviews. It will basically run in the same format as map round up. Anyone can submit a review which will be included, either a recording or a text review that will be read on the air. I'll also take a look at the existing reviews and for any good and in depth ones I'll contact the author to see if they want them added to the weekly review.

I know that we've got a lot of movie goers here, especially to the smash hit action films. Also we've been a great audience for the obscure. So this should get very interesting.

mumble has lots of echo for anyone besides the cast. I'm thinking it's because of two things:
1) jehar keeps the cast on in the background
2) jehar doesn't make a separate connection for him, he's the same as the case. I think changing one of those would fix the echo.

Skype is superior on several levels, but right now a mixer conflict causes it to crash when streaming live from skype. An audio mixer would remedy this, and it'll be on my wedding registry (hint hint), which is what's been taking up the bulk of my time lately.

I had Skype recently cause the same problems on a work meeting conversation. Nobody was running any other programs that they needed the mixer for. (This is a different computer than I've traditionally used during skype based tastycasts)

I'm starting to like skype less every time I use it.
