Splatterfest demo uploaded HERE. You come into the show at around 27:45, and the mp3 is about 10 seconds out of sync with the demo. What software do you use for video editing?
I think I'll go ahead and use aprq2 to get some video feed out of that today.

Join in again this Sunday, March 15th for the Sunday Splatterfest featuring the mod: Leper Quake 2.

Tune in at 8:30pm EST for the Quick Reload to get the lowdown on the mod. Then at 9:00pm EST log into The Happy Friar's server for the weekly splatter fest commented by Jehar and myself. If we're lucky we'll get Happy Friar back on the airwaves if I don't torture him enough during his interview tonight.

Be sure to download this mod ahead of time. It takes some time getting used to the gameplay, plus there are several files that won't download just by connecting to the server. Pick up the mod right here in the tastyspleen downloads section by visiting:

there was an issue with the original zip file, as stated below. This post has been updated to link to the new zip

This contains files that need to be placed in your baseq2 folder as well as leper. So assuming that you have Quake 2 installed on your C: drive, Be sure to extract this to c:\quake2 so that it will place files in all of the right directories. If this is your first time installing the FIXED .zip then you do not need to overwrite any files

well, give it a try by just joining. I put all the files IN the mod folder & that seems to work for me. But might now work for everybody.

There is a problem with zip for the the final release of leper. It replaces the models in your baseq2 folder instead of the leper directory. There are other files that are fine if they are placed in baseq2, such as maps. However the tris.md2's were not supposed to be placed in baseq2

There are 2 ways to fix this:

1) Here is a new zip that has the files in the correct places as well as the original tris.md2 files for you baseq2 directory. If you extract this to c:\quake2 and allow it to overwrite, it will fix the models in your baseq2 directory and place the new files into the leper directory.

2) There is a batch file that installed into your c:\quake2\leper folder named restore.bat. If you run this batch file, then it will restore the new leper models in your baseq2 folder back to their originals. However you will then have to go back into your leper.zip and copy the players folder back to c:\quake2\leper manually.

arq doesn't seem to want to spit out a working AVI for me.

So looks like I'm going to have to get the footage the "old fashioned way".

it's not technically a problem... if you do what it wants then leper works perfectly in ALL engines. If you do it the "right" way (stuff in leper folder) then it doesn't work in some engines properly (ie quakexp).

Not sure why.

Same with Dark Void, but I'm sure that noone wants to run those batch files before and after every leper game.
