Can't any of you admin types get ahold of the guy who's letting the Xquake server run, and have him do a restart of the machine?  I keep hearing that simply restarting the game itself on the server won't help (although it couldn't hurt), and that the problems everyone's having lately are due to other issues with the computer Quake is running on.

It's been pretty unplayable early in the evening, to the point where many people just get fed up and leave.  I don't see it clearing up.  Can this be addressed?  

Again, even if you don't think it will help, shutting down the game and restarting it would at least rule out the game itself as an issue.

heheh sounds like someone was privy to similar comments spoken tonight.

I believe the guy who made those comments was just trying to stir up the pot, although I must say he went on quite a tear after getting beat only by that lag, lol.

Just so you know slikk, the server has been shut down and restared a good few times now, the lag hasn't cleared telling the admins that it truly is on xquake's side thats causing the lag.

there is no garantee that the problem can be fixed but the admins are doing there best to limit the lag on the server by lower rates, minimizing the spec limit, and a few other tweaks...about the only thing they could do now is possibly lower the player limit but then they would prolly get just as many complaints about that as they would about the lag itself.
