now, i start this topic, to talk about the recent hurricane katrina. Im tired of typing about it for most people, so i decided to make a post on it.

Part of the storm did hit my area (Baton rouge, La),  and kind of messed it up, but here is just about a normal day now (except that were doing a little cleaning up compared to most cities, and the city here is getting populated by new orleans refugees. people have no idea how long it will take to clean up new orleans exactly, but its a shit loads of work to be done.

that storm was crazy, i saw it all on news today
the remnents of it hit my area today and yesterday
big wind gusts and lots of rain nothing of course of what it was liek down there

the governor in my state, is a *itch. she should sit the f*** down, and let a man do the job. all she can say is "pray! pray!".

i used to go back and forth to new orleans alot on any weekend. used to visit some friends too, also go lanning there too! (q3).
all has changed now. i know for sure that my buddies are safe, and other people i know are too. many people died here in the south, cause of the storm. america cant do shit about disasters like this, destroying properties. they cant put katrina in prison, or keep another one from destroying properties. these natural disasters, do more damage than any criminal can do, and they easily get away.

funny thing about this disaster, i was watching the news, and even saw black people, looting up stores, stealing Sh**, beating up people. i heard that the new crew caught some of the people doing it on tape, and they will be identefied, and dealt with after the crisis.

Good to know your area is ok. As for the comment above, that's a lowlife activity, but to be expected considering the source. We've seen it all too often in the past.

Well, i am kidding, unless i needed to survive. If i were going to steal shit, i wouldnt steal in front of the media and the law enforcements face. I aint like the blacks who were showing the media how "bad" (or how "133t" . jk) they are. Im gonna have to survive anyway, but i wouldnt have stayed in N.O in the first place neither.

I was gonna go to new orleans, and stay there for two weeks, but you know! change of plans.

There is a fine line between looting and surviving. I for know that if I was there, hungry, needing water, and having no clothes, I would also be "looting" to survive. For one, why in the hell would people want to steal dvd players, tv's and such when THERE IS NO POWER? Kind of stupid if you ask me. The other thing that bothers me, why is it when black people are taking things its "looting", but when white people are taking things, they "found" it? Bunch of bs if you ask me. Its sad when a companies profit margins are of higher priority than keeping people alive. Like the fact the police quit the search for survivors in order to take care of the looters. Most of the shit is a total loss anyway. I applaud and pray for the people there doing what they must to live, I would be doing the same thing. I really doubt a person here can honestly say they wouldn't do the same thing if placed in that situation. Granted, there are people there probably stealing things like electronics and other such things, but for what? Kind of hard to sell the stuff, no power, and very hard to escape with these things anyway. "Hey look what I stole, a brand new dvd recorder, too bad the outlet I could of used to plug it in is under 10 feet of water, and there is no power anyway." And of course, if the "administration", aka Bush Co.,  instead of cutting funding towards hurricane protection put the money there that should have been there, perhaps things wouldn't be as bad as they are now. IMO

the people that made their option to stay behind in N.O brought it on themselves to be stranded. mayor (i met him before) tells them to evacuate out of the city, but noooooo

i didnt really know the story before, i do some now and i complete-fucking-ly agree.. what really sucks is all the people who listened, and evac'd to texas, arent being helped at all, they arent allowed in the stadium-place (whatever) and they arent getting any of the help the people that DIDNT listen are getting.. thats just plain bullshit imo, in other words the message from the goverment (state or country, i could care less personally) is something like: "listen to us and get nothing, ignore good advice, and we will spend billions to help you out anyway"

our governor (here in louisiana) is a bitch (yes, we got a female gov, who even lives in my city).Just recently, she orders the military to even kill any so called "looters" in new orleans, so the death toll will continue to rise up. 

I really think that they should stop trying to repair new orleans, by that lake, cause its no use. it will take either prolly alot more than 5 yrs, or never.  N.o is pretty much gone. (imho) and i hate to say it, and If they do suceed at rebuilding the city, their hard work will be in vain as all the money will be wasted, and another hurricane could hit. The ground is very soft, and islands near the deltas have been disappearing.

i kinda knew that shit like this was gonna happen, and i even mention about n.o sinking. (look in the topic, named "Omega Shenron"). the other way for new orleans to go underwater would be for all of that massive ice in greenland to melt, rising the worlds sea levels higher.

Just for your information, the refugee kids that are in Texas are being fed no charge by the public state assisted schools here. I'm sure that any institution in Texas that is at least partly government funded, is doing whatever is needed to help out the hurricane victoms. Stadiums are probably privately owned. How bout y'all offering to take some of the refugees into your own homes and take care of them. That's what I thought .....
