Help please

Ive tried to modify the q2 game options screen and its kinda worked. However the top two icons are distorted. Can anyone tell me why?

Did you make these menu images yourself? If so, then obviously you made them that way. Possibly you used another image format besides PCX. That's why I always make any Q2 game related images in PCX, they will always work with every client. It could be something caused by the client. I dunno, you really didn't provide enough info to diagnose the problem.

Yeah, I made the pcx images myself. I tried to make the top two many times but they always show up distorted.

Those are some nice menu graphics, not sure why they would be distorted

Pretty sure that the game couldn't do anything like that by itself, it's possible that they look fine outside of the game, but the game can't read them properly for some reason. Are you sure you saved them the same way as the others

Hmm, looks like a rowbytes issue...

If the distorted images have an odd width, try making them even?

I vaguely remember something about saving a *.pcx using the q2 color palette. Those skewed images triggered the memory. I used to make skins for my own player model back circa 2000. The skin_i.pcx file was always skewed but had a really gnarly pallette.

What graphics program are you running?
