I'm going to see those guys tonight. I'm not really expecting great things from all that remains or 3 inches of blood, but six feet under should be cool, and i have no idea about chimaira. I'll let you know how it turns out.

I've seen chimaira once or twice...I'm not sure. But what I remember is that once would have been too much already, awful awful band. But then again I wouldn't go see that show personaly, no band I like in this show.

Well here's my review, This is going in order of appearance, first to last, the only one of these guys whose studio stuff i've heard is six feet under. I'm pretty wasted right now, so keep that in mind.
3 Inches Of Blood - I wasn't really expecting alot from these guys, but they were good, a little lacking in energy, but so were all the bands, maybe because it was a sunday night show. They had 2 vocalists, and they really did some interesting vocal harmonies and things, one of the guys could really hit the high notes, somewhat rob halford style. Their guitar solos were unimpressive, but the entire band was definitely really tight. one of the singers was wearing a celtic frost t shirt, so he automatically rules. The guitars sounded somewhat metalcore overall, but the vocals make the whole thing really interesting.
All That Remains - I've seen these guys twice already opening for gwar and they sucked every time. I was talking with Six Feet Under's bassist, and he was saying that both their bassist and their drummer left, so they had 2 replacement musicians. When they got on stage you could really tell, because they really hit alot of sour notes and had a hard time staying together as well as the other bands. Their singer still stinks, using the same cliche lyrics and boring metalcore vocal style, and i could really tell that all this touring they've been doing (they've been on the road for a few years with hardly any breaks, you gotta give em credit for that) has really done a number on the guys voice. Their lead guitarist is really good, but I don't know why he's playing with such a shitty band.
Six Feet Under - Buried all that remains within the first 10 seconds onstage. they stood in the same place for most of the show, and Chris Barnes hardly even headbanged. I definitely expected just a little more energy from them. Their tone was perfect, and they nailed everything. I was moshing my brains out most of the time so if anything unusual happened onstage i missed it. Oh yeah, some guy broke his arm in the pit during their set. He was just like on the ground laying in the middle of the pit, the bouncers were there in nothing flat luckily.
Chimaira - Never heard any of their stuff before this show. I should have just left before they came on. Their songs were boring, self indulgent, and they rambled on for like 10 minutes. Once you've heard one of their songs you've heard them all. they're a one trick pony, which is suprising considering that they have 6 members all told. Their drummer had a HUGE set, but never did anything interesting with it, sticking to mainly double bass beats. The guitar work displayed no actual musical knowledge on the part of the guitarists. Their solos were awkward and showoffish, and generally irritating, with bends and pinch harmonics in all the wrong places. They had some guy that looked like he was playing keyboards or some shit, but if he was i never heard it. They also had this habbit of stopping for 2 or 3 mintues and going offstage between every 2 songs.
All in all, for a metalcore concert, it was pretty good.

Ticketmaster blows goats. What I do is usually check the websites of the bands, but they can be slow to post them. Your best bet is to keep checking the websites of clubs in your vicinity.
