i went  to florida a while ago, alligators everywhere, and people jet skiing

10 foot sting rays where you swim..

there are black bears in upstate new york but they're few and far between, not like the gators, wtf!!

I looked all the sting ray info and stats up 2 years ago when the Croc hunter met his demise. Counting this there have been about 10 documented stingray related deaths in 100 years. Also from what I read the most common cause of death by stingray is blunt force trauma from jumping stingray's. Only a tiny percentage of sting rays have barbs long enough to puncture major artories. Also a ray's defense is designed specifically to attack sharks from underneath. You have to be swiming with a mjor arteries immediately above the barb. The barb has to be long enough. And even if stepped on, a ray will almost never swing the barb because it's an ineffective defense.

Absolute freak accidents both of them.

we may have to re-adjust the score, as many sting rays i've caught, wrestled (haha), and unhooked (used to work on a 70' party fishing boat for 7 years), i'd say we're at least tied in # of casualties.
