Insired by the unfinished Mad Max and the Thunderdome mod, I was thinking about a mod that would be worth putting effor into.
Using the existing Action Quake 2 code, create a medieval mod. Basically it would work like Action Quake 2 team play where you choose your weapon and special item.
Weapons would also come with a secondary weapon and would include:
2 Handed sword / Short sword
Spear (with no secondary)
Short sword / dagger (able to weild both at same time)
Long Bow / Short Sword
Cross Bow / Dagger
Throwing axes / Short Sword
Fire Ball Spell / Dagger
Special items would include
Wall climbing gear
Plate Armor
Chain Armor
Large Shield
Healing Potions
Feather fall potion
Boots of agility (no footsteps and able to far farther)
...and possibly more
The damage system would work very similar to aq2, except with a bigger focus on melee. Ability to block attack with your sword. Weapons would either be Stabing or slashing. Long range weapons would take a while to reload. Bandaging and bleeding would still exist. Hit locations would still exist. Obviously if you're wearing armor you'll make louder sounds. There's lots of possibilities. I obviously don't have a lot of time at the moment but I'd like to consider it and see if there's any interest.
