Just a suggestion, but how about if you(this means anyone, not one person targeted here) want to start a flame war, or even react to a flamatory statement; how about if you create ANOTHER thread and take your off topic comments there?  This is just a suggestion to help keep threads on topic, out of respect to the person who creates the thread, and out of the respect towards those who are reading the thread for the sake of its stated content, but have no interest in the flame wars.

i'm not talking down to any one person, or singling anyone out.  i think many of us have done it - react to a flamatory statement in a thread just to watch the entire thread turn into a flame war that kills the thread, or distracts it for about three pages....

and maybe i have made a mistake right here, perhaps the SMACK TALK forum would have been more appropriate.

that should be much easier to do than convincing all of us assholes that we really don't want to fill threads with BS.

It does stand to reason that if you set the ground rules for your thread, post them, and stick by them, then you'll never have to worry about your shit getting hi-jacked.
although, this only applies to those of us who care what happens to our threads after we start them.
I, for one, have given up the hope of having a thread of my own stay completely on topic to completion.
