New Maps and such

Hi All. I just want to share my opinion on things. It is about new maps and such. I have been a Quake 2 junkie since it came out. I have played single player for a long time until the Late Heat came out and died. I met many nice folks there and experienced death match at its finest. Heat started off with the original game maps death match and regular. Then they added the  mission packs and new maps.  I enjoyed the maps and the players. The sad thing was that all most players played Main Gate and the Edge. It got to the point that i hated the regular maps. I looked for new servers to play. Heat Died. I found Gamespy and Kali. I found this server. I enjoy the fact that it played regular maps. I like new maps but i hope Console will continue to keep the original maps. If new maps are going to be added. i hope he or she keeps it down to maybe  5 or 6 new maps in the rotation. It would be nice to add a server to running Ground Zero and The Reckoning too. I would like to see a server to running the new maps exclusivily. I would like to see Reckless Abandon added to rotation as well.  I have met some nice players here and some bad ones too. Oh Well that is my opinion. For what is worth. Please keep the server Vanilla with original maps. Like the web page stated. Have a nice Day.

as far as I know, the original maps are going nowhere...

right as it stands now the other maps are there and they are being played /tested out too see which ones are worth adding to the rotation.
also there is turkey.xquake.net which is basically the "unneutered" lol.... xquake which just runs the vanilla maps

Some of the classic maps that I like the most are Detention Center and Torture Chambers. I always try to join the sever when those maps are up. If I miss the cycle, it is over three hours before it rotates back again. I also like Reckless Abandon a regular map. I am surprised that it isn't included in the cycle. I like Sewers 64. It is a big map and as much as i play it, I still get lost in it. You gotta love this game. Quake 2 Still going strong. It show people that the older games are still the best.

The HUB and CROSS are two of them,and I'm going to download this again just to see what the pack was like originally.Maybe they can be addedtothe mix too!
