Can't see models in Regular Q2

I checked the board to see if there was a simular problem that I am having, but found none. Soooo here's my problem.

I recently downloaded the Models Package off the Tastyspleen.net server. There are hundreds of them (probably all q2 Models ever made off Polycount I suspect).
The problem is, I only see the 3 default models, and Crakhor within the Player Setup screen. So I tried my other engine mods like Quake2Max and Quake2Evolved, and they show up fine, all there and intact. So I know I installed them all in the correct directory (baseq2/players).

My question is, has this happened to anyone else before, and is it fixable? Any help would be much appreciated. Thankyou

Don't know if this will help, but - Double check that there aren't any files (besides directories) in your baseq2/players dir.  If I recall correctly, quake2 has a problem if any files (besides directories) exist in baseq2/players.

I'll be damned that worked. Thankyou. It was a file named [ tris.temp] . I'm not sure where it came from, but I deleted it and Shazam! Everything showed up. Except I had to delete one model that was causing memory issues [knight]. But now I can join the servers and see what every one else is. Fantastic!
