bad sectors or not?

so i installed the new version of ubuntu linux today
i was having a few problems resizing one of my hard drivers to make into new partitions for it (which could be the problem, note to self: dont fuck with the hard drives to much
)
i maybe resized 5-7 times before i got it right.
so i got ubuntu setup and stuff, and went back over to windows
i was format some unpartitioned space that was left over from the resizing
but i could not beleave what i saw next, my whole system hardrive that has winxp and ubuntu on it was marked as bad
i thought this couldnt possibly be true, i was able to boot into windows and ubuntu fine
so i ran scandisk to check for bad sectors, but i dont think it found anything (it booted before i could see the results lol)
i ran a few other programs to find/fix bad sectors but they didnt find anything either
they all were able to read my hard drive as good and healthy
partition magic, the one that said my drive was bad, had said i had errors before it started too
and it had fixed them i guess
either partition magic is reading it wrong becuase of linux (though it can read linux partitons too)
or it fixed it somehow. im hoping that its so minor that id never notice it
but its still bugging the hell outa me, is there anything i can do?

So if I get this right PartitionMagic read bad sectors on your harddrive at one point, but now everything is working fine? I could have been an error on PartitionMagic's part...maybe an update error while it was trying to read your HDD's routing table and it was comparing it to an older (pre-linux install) or something. I know windows and linux are notoriously bad at getting along because windows like to overwrite the boot sector and linux likes to use that particular portion....but if it's working I'd chalk it to a hiccup and thank your lucky stars it's not more serious

partitoin magic still continues top read it as bad, but other programs iv used have said otherwise
both windows and linux boot fine and work great afaik
you could be right that windows and linux are "fighting"
aslong as it works. i just want to make sure that this is isolated and that isnt more serious

Partition Magic is wank...I learned that the hard way after trying to remove the partition on my 120GB drive...ended up killing the second partition and having to run a data recovery program to get all my shit back. If you're gonna add/move/resize partitions, do it when there's no data on it, and definitely NOT with PM.
