DM needs a restart?

Over the last 2 weeks severe lag has been effecting the DM server. It's not just me it's effecting everyone. You are playing mid game then all of a sudden the whole server freezes for like a second or 2 several times during a game sometimes. This morning it was rather bad and everyones pings were through the roof

I've been noticing some annoying 2 or 3 second pauses too. I wouldn't say it happens several times every map, but it seems to happen once every map or two, and a few times over the course of an hour. At first, I just thought it was me experiencing yet another symptom of my shitty internet providers shitty service. But then I noticed once that while I was engaged in a fight with one other player, when things started moving again, he hadn't lag killed me like what usually happens when it's only you who's lagging, indicating that apparently everyone on the server was experiencing it. And it's been happening for so long now that I've kinda learned to just hold down fire if I'm fighting someone when it happens, and then when it moves again, a lot of times the other guy will have let go of his fire button and then I get the first shot off and get the frag.

I haven't noticed anything like my ping changing though. Then again, I don't live literally 9000+ miles from Texas with Crocodile Dundee.

I'll try a restart sometime this evening.

I've noticed a few unusual 'hitches' lately, where I froze briefly in game, but nothing showed up on the netgraph.

I've seen that sort of thing previously on occasions when the server was busy running a backup of the filesystem. However, in these recent occurrences, the server wasn't under load (so the cause was a mystery.)

There is still random server loock-ups or lag going on not sure why, Also my ping has doubled (i made a topic about it in hopes for help of sorts, in the troubleshooting sections)

I've noticed it too - not changed the ping for me (UK, England) but does lock up and then - I'm dead    When I mention it, others have said the same.

I'm about 5,000 miles for Texas - no Croc Dundee here tho.  bean$

I still have random lock-ups not sure what's going on, can Admin not fix it??
